\nis a kingdom of the spirit\u2019s ease<\/font>.<\/p>\n

\nis not in this helpless swirl of thought,<\/p>\n

Foam
\nfrom the world-sea or spray-whisper caught,<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

With
\nwhich we build mind\u2019s shifting symmetries,<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Nor
\nin life\u2019s stuff of passionate unease,<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Nor
\nthe heart\u2019s unsure emotions frailty wrought<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Nor
\ntrivial clipped sense-joys soon led1 <\/sup>to nought<\/p>\n

      Unshaken
\nby the mad water\u2019s leap and shiver.<\/p>\n

Thought
\ncould not think in him; flesh could not quiver;<\/p>\n

       The
\nfeet of Time could not adventure here:<\/p>\n

\nsome unborn Power nude and austere,<\/p>\n

      Only
\na Silence mighty to deliver.<\/p>\n

\nspirit world-wide and companionless<\/p>\n

        Seated

\nsustained the huge creation\u2019s stress,<\/p>\n

         Unchanged

\nauto\u2019s trumpet-song of speed to earth,<\/p>\n

\n<\/span>The machine’s reluctant drone, the siren\u2019s blare<\/p>\n

Blowing
\nupon the windy horn of Space<\/p>\n

\n<\/span>A call of distance and of mystery,<\/p>\n

Memories

\n<\/span>Man on whom the World-Unity shall seize,<\/p>\n

\nhis soul-spark to an epiphany<\/p>\n

\nrises from the dim inconscient deep<\/p>\n

\n<\/span>Upcoiling through the minds and hearts of men,<\/p>\n

Then
\ntouches on some height of luminous sleep<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

        
\n<\/span>The bliss and splendour of the eternal plane.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

\nthis I bear in me, untouched and still<\/p>\n

\nto Thy all-wise inscrutable will.

\nin the stone and beast the godhead lurks,<\/p>\n

\n<\/span>Developed consciousness, assumed a soul?<\/p>\n

\ndarkness was the Omnipotent\u2019s abode,<\/p>\n

Hood
\nof omniscience, a blind mask of God.<\/p>\n
