All is not given by Nature<br \/>\nOnly to Force and the strong and the violent. Courage and wisdom,<br \/>\nSteadfast will and the calm magnificent dream of thy spirit<br \/>\nCrown thee for ever, 0 Emperor! Fiercely by Destiny broken,<br \/>\nHurled (cast)<br \/>\nfrom thy throne and defeated, forsaken, a wandering exile,<br \/>\nFar from the hills of thy land and thy fallen and vanquished nation,<br \/>\nYet has thy glory overtopped and the deathless pride of thy laurel<br \/>\nConquered the conqueror&#8217;s, Haile Selassie, Lion of Judah.<br \/>\nFrance for her southern borders fearing spared the aggressor.<br \/>\nEngland the sea queen, England the fortunate, England the victor<br \/>\nFled like a dog from the whip of the menace yelping for succour,<br \/>\nLoudly to Frank and to Greek and to Turk and to Yugoslav calling<br \/>\n&quot;Help me! Forget to hope and aspire.<br \/>\nLet us paint our prison, let us strengthen its bars.<\/p>\n<p>Lo, now he is dead and the greatness that cumbered the world and Time&#8217;s ways<br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br \/>\nHas vanished like a golden shadow thrust out from the anguish of the ages;<br \/>\nThe glory and burden, the sunlight and the passion have left our days;<br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br \/>\nOnce more we can wear the grey livery of Death and gather in his wages.<\/p>\n<p>All that drew back from his splendour, fleeing as ashamed from the light and the beauty and invincible sweetness<br \/>\nNow returns vaunting this darkness and littleness, this fret of life&#8217;s fever,<br \/>\nits cruel and sad incompleteness.<br \/>\nAll that is false and wry and little are freed to, follow their nature once more<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"border-style: none;border-width: medium;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0;padding: 0cm;line-height:150%\" align=\"left\">\n<span lang=\"EN-US\"><br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
