\nTranslations <\/i>comprises all of Sri Aurobindo’s translations from
\nSanskrit, Bengali, Tamil, Greek and Latin into English, with the
\nexception of his translations of Vedic and Upanishadic literature.
\nThe Vedic and Upanishadic translations appear in volumes 14\u00ad18 of THE COMPLETE WORKS OF
\nSRI AUROBINDO. His translations of some of the Mother’s French <\/span>
\nPri\u00e8res et m\u00e9ditations<\/span> <\/span> <\/i>
\nappear in volume 31,
\nThe Mother with Letters on the Mother<\/i>.
\nHis translations from Sanskrit into Bengali appear in volume 9, Writings in Bengali and Sanskrit<\/i>.
\n<\/span> <\/p>\n

\nThe contents of the present volume are divided by original
\nlanguage into five parts. The dates of the translations are given
\nin the Note on the Texts. They span more than fifty years, from
\n1893 to the mid-1940s. Less than half the pieces were published
\nduring Sri Aurobindo’s lifetime; the rest are reproduced from his
