\nTowered of the glorious youth,<\/span><\/p>\n

\nAnd continual lightnings drape,<\/span><\/p>\n

\nSo I dreamed, that faultless shape.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nDark Calindie, by thy stream<\/span><\/p>\n

\nSlowly went he in my dream.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nAnd I dreamed of boughs that shone<\/span><\/p>\n

\nWith a row of moons thereon,<\/span><\/p>\n

\nFingers fair like young leaves born<\/span><\/p>\n

\nWith a rosy light of morn.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nFlower-of-coral bloom his lips,<\/span><\/p>\n

\nOver which Love’s parrot peeps,<\/span><\/p>\n

\nCowed to thy breast’s hill-cavern winds.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nThe strong five-missiled Love with arrows three<\/span><\/p>\n

\nThe three worlds conquered; two remained<\/span><\/p>\n

\nWhich to thine eyes some cruel Fate did lend<\/span><\/p>\n

\nHer dim white robe like hoar-frost thin<\/span><\/p>\n

\nHalf from the shoulder had fallen in.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nHer beautiful mouth half-smiled and half<\/span><\/p>\n

\nA glance from under her lids did laugh.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nHalf-naked shone her breasts’ sweet globes,<\/span><\/p>\n

\nHer teeth, a row of pearls, did meet<\/span><\/p>\n

\nHer moving lips and sweet, O sweet<\/span><\/p>\n

\nAs liquid honey her delicate speech.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nWhence did Fate build you with effort made fair?<\/span><\/p>\n

\nThe buds of her flowerlike breasts between<\/span><\/p>\n

\nHer robe’s white folds were a little seen.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nThe snows may cover the high bright hill,<\/span><\/p>\n

\nHidden it is not, strive as you will.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nIn a boy’s dress to the tryst she goes.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nShe has loosened showering her ordered hair<\/span><\/p>\n

\nNew-fastened in a crest to wear;<\/span><\/p>\n

\nThe cloth of her body she doth treasure<\/span><\/p>\n

\nAbout her in another measure<\/span><\/p>\n

\nAnd since her bounteous breasts disdain<\/span><\/p>\n

\nThe robe’s light government, she has ta’en<\/span><\/p>\n

\nOver her heart an instrument.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nIn such guise to the grove she went<\/span><\/p>\n

\nAnd in such guise met in the grove:<\/span><\/p>\n

\nHer when he saw, the flower of love<\/span><\/p>\n

\nKnew not though seen his darling bright, \u2014<\/span><\/p>\n

\nHe doubted in his heart’s despite.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nOnly when those dear limbs he touches<\/span><\/p>\n

\nHer sweet identity he vouches.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nWhat then befell? Sweet Love the rather<\/span><\/p>\n
