\n1. Churned out and well-established in the house of his session, the Youth, the
\nSeer, the leader of the pilgrim-sacrifice, imperishable in the perishing
\nwoodlands, the Fire, the knower of all things born, has founded here
\nimmortality.  <\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n2. The sons of the Bringer, god-inspired and god-beloved, have churned out Fire
\nof the perfect discernment. O Fire, look widely on us with the vast riches,
\nbecome the leader of our impulsions throughout the days. <\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n3. The ten who throw the Light have brought to birth all around the Ancient One
\nwell-born in his mothers and well-beloved. Affirm with lauds, O god-inspired,
\nthe Fire lit by the god-beloved, that he may be the controller of men. <\/p>\n

\n4. One has set thee in the supreme seat of the earth, in the seat <\/p>\n

\nthe lasting conquest of the Light. May there be for us a Son of our begetting

\n\t2. O Fire, thou art kindled by the word of revelation, the immortal who

\n\t1. O Fire, thou art the son of heaven by the body of the earth, the
\n\tconscious knower, even the omniscient. Sacrifice to each god in turn, O thou

\n\t2. Fire the knower wins the hero-energies, wins the plenitudes striving
\n\ttowards immortality. So do thou bring to us the gods, O giver of the
\n\tmanifold plenty. <\/p>\n

\n\t3. The Fire, free from all ignorance, illumines Earth and Heaven the divine
\n\tand immortal mothers of all things; possessing<\/span>
\n\tall he is manifold in his delights by his plenitudes and his dispensations.\n\t<\/p>\n

\n\t5. O Fire, thou shinest<\/span> high, eternal in the
\n\thouse of the waters, O son of force, O knower of all things born, greatening
\n\tunder thy guard the worlds of thy session. <\/p>\n

\n\t1. We the Kushikas<\/span>, bringing the offering,
\n\tdesiring the Trea<\/span>sure, call by our words Fire,
\n\tthe universal godhead, discerning<\/span> him by the
\n\tmind, as the follower of the truth, who finds the world of the sun, the
\n\tgreat giver, the divine and rapturous<\/span>
\n\tcharioteer. <\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t2. We call to guard us that brilliant Fire, the universal godhead, who grows
\n\tin the mother, the master of the word, the speaker and the hearer, for the
\n\thuman being’s forming of the god-head, the illumined Seer, the Guest, the
\n\tswift Traveller. <\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t3. As if the neighing Horse by the mothers, the universal god-head is
\n\tkindled high by the Kushikas<\/span> from generation to
\n\tgeneration; may that Fire wakeful in the Immortals give to us the
\n\thero-strength and good power of the Horse and the ecstasy. <\/p>\n

4. Let them go forward, the plenitudes with the strengths, thy Fires; they
\n\thave yoked the dappled mares mingled together to reach bliss and make the
\n\tmountains tremble, before them the life-gods, omniscient, pouring the Vast,
\n\tinviolable. <\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t5. The life-gods with their glory of fire, universal in the peoples,\u00b9 we
\n\tdesire as our brilliant and forceful guard; great givers are they,
\n\tthunderous and terrible, clothed as if in raiment of rain, they are like
\n\troaring lions.  <\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t6. Host upon host, troop upon troop with their
\n\tproclaimings<\/span> of the Fire we desire the luminous energy of the
\n\tlife-gods; they come to the sacrifice driving their dappled horses, their
\n\tachievement cannot be taken from them, they are wise thinkers<\/span>
\n\tin the discoveries of knowledge. <\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t7. I am the Fire, I am from my birth the knower of all things born; light is
\n\tmy eye, in my mouth is immortality; I am the triple Ray, I am the measurer
\n\tof the mid-world, I am the unceasing illumination, I am the offering. <\/p>\n

8. He has purified through the three filters the Ray, following the thought
\n\twith the heart he has reached knowledge of the   <\/p>\n

\n\t9. He is a fountain with a hundred streams that is never exhausted<\/span>,
\n\twith his illumined consciousness he is the father and accorder of all that
\n\tmust be spoken; he takes his rapture in the lap of the Father and Mother and
\n\tearth and heaven fill him full, the speaker of truth. <\/p>\n

\n\t<\/span>27<\/b><\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t1. Forward move the luminous plenitudes bearing the offering with the ladle
\n\tof light; the seeker of bliss travels to the gods.  <\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t2. I pray by the word the Fire with its illumined consciousness, who
\n\taccomplishes the sacrifice, who has the inspiration, who has the firm
\n\tholding. <\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t3. O Fire, may we have the power to rein thee, the divine steed of
\n\tswiftness, may we cross through the hostile forces.  <\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t4. Fire high-blazing in the rite of the path. Fire whom we must <\/p>\n

\n\tpray, who purifies, with his tresses of flame \u2014 him we desire. <\/p>\n

\n\t5. He is the immortal, wide in might, clothed in raiment of light; well-fed
\n\twith the oblation. Fire is the carrier of the offerings in the sacrifice.\n\t<\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t6. Assailed by the opponent the doers of sacrifice, setting to work the
\n\tladle, keeping the true thought, have made the Fire to guard them. <\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t7. The immortal, the godhead, the Priest of the call goes in our front with
\n\this mage-wisdom, impelling the discoveries of knowledge. <\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t8. He is held as the Horse in the plenitudes, he is led along in the rites
\n\tof the path, he is the illumined Seer who accomplishes<\/span>
\n\tthe sacrifice. <\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t9. He was made by the Thought, one Supreme;\u00b9 it held the child of beings,
\n\tthe father of the Understanding in the body.\u00b2  <\/p>\n

 \n\t<\/p>\n

\n\t     \u00b9Or, the desirable
\n\tone;<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\t       <\/span>\u00b2Or,
\n\tthe daughter of the Understanding set him in us the child born from
\n\tcreatures and their father.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\t10. The word of revelation born from the understanding sets thee within, one

\n\t11. Fire the swift in motion, who crosses through the waters, the illumined
\n\tseers desiring to conquer in the union with the Truth set ablaze by the
\n\tplenitudes.  <\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t12. I pray Fire, the Seer-Will, the Son of Energy flaming out in heaven in
\n\tthe rite of the path. <\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t13. One to be prayed, to be worshipped with obeisance, one who sees\u00b9 through
\n\tthe darkness, the Fire is kindled high, the male of the herd. <\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t14. Mighty and male the Fire is kindled high, he is like a horse that
\n\tcarries the gods, him they pray who bring the offerings. <\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t15. Thee, mighty and male, we male and mighty kindle high, O Bull of the
\n\therds, O Fire, and thou illuminest<\/span> the Vast. <\/p>\n

\n\t2. O Fire, for thee is the frontal offering prepared and dressed, that
\n\taccept, O youthful god. <\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t3. O Fire, come to\u00b9 the frontal offering that is cast to thee with the
\n\tdisappearance of day; O son of force, thou art
\n\testablished<\/span> in the rite of the path. <\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t4. In the noonday pressing of the wine, O seer, knower of all things born,
\n\taccept the frontal offering. O Fire, the wise thinkers in their discoveries
\n\tof knowledge impair not thy portion, who art the mighty one. <\/p>\n

\n\t5. O Fire, in the third pressing also thou hast desire of the frontal
\n\toffering cast to thee, O son of force; do thou by the illumination establish
\n\tin the gods the pilgrim-sacrifice full of ecstasy and wakeful in the

\n\t1. This is the churning out, this the bringing to birth that is done; bring
\n\tthe Queen of the peoples, let us churn out the Fire as of old. <\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t2. The knower of all births is set in the two tinders, like an unborn child
\n\twell-placed in the womb of the mothers. Fire who is to be prayed from day to
\n\tday by men wakeful and bearing their offering. <\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t3. Waking to knowledge bring him down in her lying supine; at once
\n\tpenetrated she has brought to birth the male of the herd: a ruddy pile of
\n\tstrength his might shines forth, the son of the Word of revelation is born
\n\tin the manifestation of knowledge. <\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t4. We in the seat of the Word of revelation, on the navel-centre <\/p>\n

\n\tof the oblations. <\/p>\n

\n\t5  Churn out, O men, the seer who creates no duality, the
\n\tim<\/span>mortal thinker and knower with his fair front;
\n\tFire who is the supreme intuition in the sacrifice, the blissful one, bring
\n\tto birth in your front, O men. <\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t6. When they churn him out by the strength of their arms wide he shines, he
\n\tis like a horse of swiftness, he is luminous in the woodlands; he is like a
\n\trichly hued chariot in the journeying of the two riders, none can impede
\n\thim; burning around the rocks he tears the grasses. <\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t7. Agni when he is born shines waking to knowledge, he is the Horse, the
\n\tillumined who is declared by the seers, the great giver, whom the gods have
\n\tset in the pilgrim-sacrifices as the carrier of the offerings, the one to be
\n\tprayed, the omniscient.  <\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t8. Sit, O Priest of the call, in that world which is thy own
\n\twaking<\/span> to knowledge, accomplish the sacrifice in
\n\tthe native seat of deeds well done; manifesting the godheads\u00b9 thou
\n\tsacrifices<\/span>! to the gods with the offering, \u2014 O
\n\tFire, found in the sacrificer the vast expansion.  <\/p>\n

\n\tplenitude; this is the Fire conqueror in the battle, by whom the gods
\n\tovercame the destroyers. <\/p>\n

\n\t10. This is thy native seat where is the order of the Truth whence born thou
\n\tshonest<\/span> forth, know it and take there thy
\n\tsession, then give increase to our words. <\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t11. A mighty child in the womb he is called the son of the body;  when he is
\n\tborn he becomes one who voices the godhead:  when as life who grows in the
\n\tmother he has been fashioned in the mother he becomes a gallop of wind in
\n\this movement.   <\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t12. Churned out with the good churning the seer set Within with a perfect
\n\tplacing, \u2014 O Fire, make easy the paths of the sacrifice, offer sacrifice to
\n\tthe gods for the seeker of godhead. <\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t13. Mortals have brought to birth the Immortal, Fire with his strong tusk,
\n\tthe unfailing deliverer.\u00b9 The ten sisters who move as companions passion
\n\tover the male that is born. <\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t     \u00b9Or, one who
\n\tunfailing crosses through all.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\t14. He shone out from the eternal with his seven priests of the call when he
\n\tblazed on the lap of the mother, in her bosom of plenty. He is full of joy
\n\tand closes not his eyes from day to day, once he has been born from the
\n\tbelly of the Almighty One. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t15. Fighting down the unfriendly powers like the marching hosts of the
\n\tlife-gods the first-born of the Word come to know all that is: the
\n\tKushikas<\/span> have sent forth the luminous word, one
\n\tby one they have kindled the Fire in the house. <\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t16. Because here today in the going forward of this sacrifice we have chosen
\n\tthee, O Priest of the call, O thou who wakest<\/span> to
\n\tknowledge, thou hast moved to the Permanent, thou hast  achieved by thy toil
\n\tthe Permanent; knowing, come as one possessed of knowledge to the Soma-wine. <\/p>\n
