The Impersonal is not He, it is It. How can an It guide or help? The Impersonal Brahman is inactive, aloof, indifferent, not concerned<br \/>\nwith what happens in the universe. Buddha&#8217;s Permanent is the same. <\/p>\n<p align=\"center\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">* <\/p>\n<p align=\"center\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">\n<p align=\"justify\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">There is no thought in the pure Impersonal, it is silent<br \/>\n\t\u2014but it<br \/>\nis true that divine Truth can manifest in the background of the silence. This is of course the truth of things up to the Overmind. <\/p>\n<p align=\"center\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">\n\t<b><a name=\"The_Inactive_Brahman_and_the_Active_Brahman__\">The Inactive<br \/>\n\tBrahman and the Active Brahman <\/a> <\/b><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">The inactive Brahman and the active personal Brahman are two<br \/>\naspects of the Divine. In the Supreme these are fused into each other, not separate. <\/p>\n<p align=\"center\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">* <\/p>\n<p align=\"center\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">\n<p align=\"justify\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">There are two aspects of the Divine<br \/>\n\t\u2014the static Peace and the<br \/>\ndynamic Force. In the end they unite. <\/p>\n<p align=\"center\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">* <\/p>\n<p align=\"center\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">\n<p align=\"justify\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">It is in the inactive Brahman that one merges if one seeks laya or Moksha. One can dwell in the Personal Divine but does not<br \/>\nmerge in Him. As for the Supreme, He holds in Himself the world-existence and it is in His Consciousness that it moves;<br \/>\nso by entering into the Supreme one rises above subjection to Nature, but one does not disappear from all consciousness of<br \/>\nworld-existence. <\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">\n<p align=\"center\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">\n\t\t\t<font size=\"2\">Page <\/font><font size=\"2\" face=\"Times New Roman\">\u2013<br \/>\n\t\t\t28<\/font><\/p>\n<hr>\n<p align=\"justify\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">\n\t&lt;p align=&quot;left&quot; style=&quot;line-height: 150%; <\/p>\n<p>The immutable Brahman is only a base for the transcendent<br \/>\naction which comes down into its peace and silence and fills it with power also and Ananda and the light of knowledge. <\/p>\n<p align=\"center\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">\n\t<b><a name=\"Spirit_and_Life__\">Spirit and Life <\/a> <\/b><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">In the sphere of the Spirit are only the eternal truths<br \/>\n\t\u2014all is<br \/>\neternally itself there, there is no development, nothing unrealised or striving to be fulfilled. There are no such things as possibilities<br \/>\ntherefore. <\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\" style=\"text-indent: 25pt;line-height: 150%;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">In life on the other hand all is a play of possibilities<br \/>\n\t\u2014nothing is realised, all is seeking to be realised \u2014or if not yet seeking, then waiting behind the veil for that. Nothing is realised in its<br \/>\nhighest form, in its truth or completeness, but all is possible. All these possibilities are derived from the truths above<br \/>\n\t\u2014e.g., the<br \/>\npossibility of knowledge, the possibility of love, the possibility of joy etc. <\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\" style=\"text-indent: 25pt;line-height: 150%;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">Intellect, will etc. are intermediaries which try to catch something of the hidden higher truths and bring them into life or else<br \/>\nraise life to them \u2014so that the possibilities of life here may become the complete realities that are already there above.<br \/>\n &nbsp; <\/p>\n<p align=\"center\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">\n<p align=\"center\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">\n\t\t\t<font size=\"2\">Page <\/font><font size=\"2\" face=\"Times New Roman\">\u2013<br \/>\n\t\t\t29<\/font><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Chapter Three &nbsp; Brahman &nbsp; The Impersonal Brahman &nbsp; You speak of the Impersonal as if it were a Person.
