\nOur Religion1<\/sup> <\/font><\/p>\n

<\/b><\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n

\nOur religion is the eternal religion, sanātana dharma.<\/i> It has three forms, ways., and activities of its own. Our religion
\nhas three forms. God is in the spirit within, in the mental and
\nthe physical worlds\u2014in these three worlds, created by
\nNature, governed by the Supreme Consciousness-Force
\n(Mahāsakti).<\/i> He has expressed Himself as the universe. The
\nattempt to unite with Him in these three worlds comprises
\nthe three forms of the eternal religion. Our religion has its
\nthree ways, mārgas.<\/i> Knowledge, devotion, action,\u2014these
\nthree, in their separate or combined working, such a state of
\nunion is within man’s reach. The yearning to be united with
\nGod by a purification of the soul through these triple ways
\nconstitutes the Triple Way of the eternal religion. Our
\nreligion is involved in three activities. Among the major
\nhuman tendencies three tend upward, and give the strength
\nthat brings Brahman-realisation\u2014truth, love and energy.
\nThe evolution of the human race is being fulfilled through
\nthe gradual expression of these three tendencies. To advance
\non the Triple Way through truth, love and energy forms the
\ntriple action of the eternal religion. <\/font><\/p>\n

\nThere are many secondary religions hidden or implied in
\nthe eternal religion; depending on the eternal men busy
\nthemselves with changing, great and small religions, choose
\ntheir own line of acitvity. All activities and religions are born
\nof one’s own nature. The eternal religion is supported by the
\neternal nature of the world, these many religions are the <\/font><\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n

\n‘ Dharma is usually translated as Religion, perhaps for the sake of
\nsimplicity. But a closer rendering\u2014closer to the real sense\u2014would be
\n"the right law of life", or simply "the Divine Law". <\/font><\/p>\n

\nresult of the inner nature of the various instruments. There
\nare many kinds of religion\u2014individual, racial, hierarchical,
\nof the spirit of the age, etc. They are not to be neglected or
\nrejected because they are impermanent, rather it is through
\nthe transient, changing religions that the eternal religion
\ndevelops and establishes itself. The giving up of the religion
\nof one’s individual nature, of the race, the hierarchy, and the
\nspirit of the age, instead of strengthening the eternal religion, develops what is irreligion, and what the Gita calls
\nmongrelisation, sankara;<\/i> that is because of violating the
\neternal way and because of the downward momentum
\nopposed to progress, the world suffers from sin and tyranny.
\nWhen because of the excesses of such sin and tyranny the
\ntitanic (asuric)<\/i> powers that oppose man’s progress and
\ntrample religion swell and grow in strength, selfishness,
\ncruelty and egotism spread everywhere, and the godless
\npretend to be God, then to remedy the sufferings of a panicndden world the Lord, manifesting in a human form as
\neither avatāra<\/i> or vibhuti,<\/i> again clears the way of the true
\nreligion. <\/font><\/p>\n

\nFor the adequate preservation of the eternal religion the
\nreligion of the individual, race, the hierarchy and the spirit of
\nthe age are always to be recommended. But among these
\nmany religions there are the two forms: noble and small. It is
\nbetter to observe the ‘small’ religion in keeping with and by
\ncorrecting it in terms of the nobler religion. If the religion of
\nthe individual is not made to conform with the religion of the
\nrace, that race goes to seed, and when the religion of the race
\nis lost the field and opportunity of individual religion are
\ndestroyed. This too is a confusion in the life of religion,
\nbecause of which both the race and the agents of confusion
\nfall into the deepest hell. The race has to be saved first, only
\nthen can the individual’s spiritual, ethical and economic
\nprogress be safeguarded. And if the hierarchy in the social <\/font><\/p>\n

\norder cannot be recast in the form demanded by the spirit of
\nthe age, because of the contrary force of the mighty spirit of
\nthe age the religion based on the hierarchical order is broken
\nand destroyed, and the same consequences overtake the
\nsociety itself. The small is always a part or support of the
\ngreat; in a contrary state of this relationship a great harm,
\ndue to religious confusion, is perpetrated. In the case of a
\nconflict between the great and the small religion it is better to
\ngive up the small and follow the great. <\/font><\/p>\n

\nOur aim is to spread the eternal religion and, based on that
\neternal religion, the observance of the religion of the race
\nand the spirit of the age. We Indians, descendants of the
\nAryan race, have a right to an Aryan education and ethics.
\nThis Aryan feeling is our family religion and racial religion.
\nKnowledge, devotion and non-attached activity are the root
\nof an Aryan education; liberality, love, courage, energy,
\nmodesty are signs of the Aryan character. To spread the light
\nof knowledge among men, to hold before the race the
\nimpeccable ideal of elevated, liberal characters, to protect
\nthe weak, to punish the powerful tyrants are the aims of
\nAryan living; in the pursuit of these aims lies its religious
\nfulfilment. We have fallen from the ways of our religion,
\nmoved away from our goals; victim to religious confusion
\nand the gross illusions full of error we are without the Aryan
\neducation and its regulative ethics. In spite of belonging to
\nthe Aryan race we, dominated by the mighty and victims of
\nmisery and suffering, have acccepted the law of inferiority
\nand the servitude that follow from it. Hence if we want to
\nsurvive, if we have the slightest-desire to be free from an
\neternal hell, our first duty is to serve the nation. The way to
\ndo that is to rebuild the Aryan character. So that the future
\nchildren of the motherland may become men of wisdom,
\ntruth-abiding, lovers of mankind, inspired by feelings of
\nbrotherhood, courageous, humble, it should be our first aim <\/font><\/p>\n

\nto give the entire nation, especially the youth of the country,
\nan adequate education, high ideals and a way of activity that
\nwill arouse these Aryan ideals. Till we succeed in doing that
\nthe spread of the eternal religion will be like sowing seeds in
\na barren field, i <\/font><\/p>\n

\nThe performance of the racial religion will make it easier!
\nto serve the spirit of the age. This is an age of energy ,sakti 
\n<\/i>and love. At the beginning of the Age of Iron (Kali),<\/i> the
\nhuman tendencies try to fulfil themselves by subordinating
\nknowledge and action to devotion, and with the support of
\nlove, truth and energy try and succeed in spreading the
\nmessage of love. The friendliness and charity of Buddhism,
\nthe teaching of love in Christianity, the equality and brother-
\nhood of Islam, the devotion and sentiment of love in the
\nPauranic religion is a result of these attempts. In the Age of
\nIron the eternal religion, helped by the spirit of friendliness,
\naction, devotion, love, equality and brotherhood, does good
\nto humanity. Entering into and manifesting in the Aryan
\nreligion, composed of knowledge, devotion and non-attached action, these same powers are seeking for expansion
\nand self-fulfilment. The signs of that energy of expression are
\nsevere austerity, high ideals, and noble action. When this
\nrace becomes once more a seeker after austere perfection,
\nfull of high ideals and undertaker of noble efforts, it should
\nbe understood that the world’s progress is under way and the
\nwithdrawal of anti-religious titanic forces and the rise
\ndivine forces is inevitable once again. Hence this type
\neducation too is needed at the present time. <\/font><\/p>\n

\nWhen the religion of the race and of the time-spirit are
\nfulfilled, the eternal religion will spread and establish itself
\nthroughout the world, without let or hindrance. All that the
\nLord has ordained from before, about which there are
\n‘prophecies in the ancient canons, sāstras,<\/i> those too will be
\nfelt and realised in action. The entire world will come to the <\/font><\/p>\n

\nKnower of Brahman, who will arise in the Aryan land, as
\nlearners in the ways of wisdom and religion, and accepting
\nBharat as a place of pilgrimage they will accept her superiority with bowed heads. It is to bring that day nearer that the
\nIndians are rising, that is why this fresh awakening of Aryan
\nideas. <\/font><\/p>\n
