\nExperiences are not useless\u2014they have their place; in
\n, other words, they prepare the direct perception, help the
\nbeing to open and bring knowledge of other worlds and
\ndifferent planes. Integral experience and establishment of
\nthe divine peace, equality, light, knowledge, purity, vast-
\nness, Presence, experience of the Self, divine felicity, experience of the universal consciousness (which destroys ego),
\ndesireless pure divine love, vision of the Divine everywhere,
\netc. bring the true realisation. The first step leading to these
\nexperiences is the descent of peace from above and its firm
\nfoundation in the being and all around it. <\/font><\/p>\n

\n* * <\/font><\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n

\nThese experiences are valuable and contain some truth
\nand help one to progress in the sadhana. But these are not
\nenough\u2014what is wanted is the realisation, the divine peace,
\nequality, purity, the descent and establishment of knowledge, power and Ananda of the higher consciousness\u2014that
\nis the real thing. <\/font><\/p>\n

\n* * <\/font><\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n

\nPlants have a life and a consciousness. It is easy to <\/font><\/p>\n

\nexchange feelings with them. <\/font><\/p>\n

\nThis feeling is very good. One has to feel what the Mother
\nis giving within\u2014people make so many mistakes by looking
\nat the outward appearance. They forget to accept the inner
\ngift or are incapable of receiving it. <\/font><\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n

\nThe diamond light is the Mother’s light at its strongest. It
\nis only natural for this light to come out of the body of the
\nMother like this and fall on the sadhak if he is in a good
\ncondition. <\/font><\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n

\nThis to happen in the head means that the mind has fully
\nopened and accepted the higher consciousness. <\/font><\/p>\n

\nThis is what is wanted\u2014the external things going inwards,
\nbecoming one with the inner and accepting the inner attitude.

\nIt is good to look upon the body in this way. However,
\neven if the consciousness does not remain confined to the <\/font><\/p>\n

\nbody and becomes vast and limitless, still one
\nshould consider the body as a part of the consciousness and an instrument of the Mother and one should transform the physical
\nconsciousness as well. <\/font><\/p>\n

\nIt is a very good sign; the lower consciousness is rising to
\nunite with the higher. <\/font><\/p>\n

\nThis is your ājnā cakra,<\/i> that is to say, the
\ncentre for. the inner intelligence, thought, vision and will-power. Owing to
\nthe pressure, it has now opened and become luminous to such an extent that it
\nhas joined with the higher consciousness and spread its influence throughout the being. No, it is
\n‘not imagination and it is not false either. The temple above is
\nthe higher consciousness, the temple below is the trans-
\nformed consciousness of this mind, vital and body\u2014the
\nMother has come down and erected this temple below and
\nfrom there she is spreading her influence everywhere within you.  <\/font><\/p>\n

\nGood, the higher consciousness has to be brought down in
\nthis way, as a calm universalising of oneself, first in the head
\n(in the mental plane, then in the emotional vital and the
\npsychic in the heart), next in the navel and below the navel
\n(in the vital), finally in the entire range of the physical. <\/font><\/p>\n

\nThis change (in the back) is very good. Often attacks of
\nthis nature come from behind but if the Mother’s force and
\nconsciousness are there, they cannot enter any more. <\/font><\/p>\n

\nA white lotus signifies that the Mother’s consciousness is
\nmanifesting there. <\/font><\/p>\n

\nThe place of the higher consciousness is above the head. It
\nstarts just above the head and rises upwards to infinity. You
\nare experiencing the presence of the vast peace and silence
\nthat are there. One has to bring down all this peace and
\nconsciousness into the entire being. <\/font><\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n

\nThis greater plane may be the spiritual consciousness with
\nthe temple of truth in it. A connection has been established
\nbetween your vital and that plane, and the higher force is
\ngoing up and down as if over a bridge. <\/font><\/p>\n

\n *    * <\/font><\/p>\n

\nMany do not get the experience of the awakening of the
\nKundalini, some have it; the purpose of this awakening is to <\/font><\/p>\n

\nopen up all the planes and join them to the higher
\nconsciousness, but this purpose can be served by other means as well. <\/font><\/p>\n

\nAn emanation or a part of Her being and consciousness
\ncomes out of the Mother to each sadhak and as her image
\nand representative remains with him to help him. In fact, it is
\nthe Mother Herself who comes out in that form. <\/font><\/p>\n

\n *    * <\/font><\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n

\nYou have to live above in the vastness you are
\nexperiencing and inside in the depths, you have to live within that
\nalone,\u2014moreover, you have to bring down that vastness
\neverywhere in nature, even in the lower nature. Then the
\ntransformation of the lower and the external nature can be
\npermanently established. For, this vastness is the infinity of
\nthe Mother’s consciousness. <\/font><\/p>\n

\n *    * <\/font><\/p>\n

\nWhen the narrow lower nature is liberated into the
\nvastness of the Mother’s consciousness, it will then be
\ntransformed to the very roots. <\/font><\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n

\nIf experiences are disclosed in speech or writing, then the
\ndecrease or stop. And this happens to many. That is why the<\/i><\/font><\/p>\n

\nYogins never tell their experiences to anybody or tell only
\nwhen they are firmly established. But if you tell them to the Mother, they will
\nnot decrease, but increase. You must get 
\nsettled in the habit of telling the experiences to the Mother. I <\/font><\/p>\n

\nThe boy is God dwelling in your heart, and, no doubt, the
\nShakti is the Mother Herself. <\/font><\/p>\n

\nThe wheel is turning. It means that the Mother’s Force is
\nat work in the outer being\u2014its<\/i> transformation will take

\nWhat you feel in the head is the physical mind,<\/i> and what

\nThis kind of identification with the Mother is the true sign
\nof liberation. <\/font><\/p>\n

\nThus the transformation of the physical is possible when <\/font><\/p>\n

\nThis experience is very beautiful and true. Every
\nādhara <\/i>should be a temple like this. What you have heard\u2014that the
\nMother will do everything and that you must remain immersed in her\u2014is a great truth. <\/font><\/p>\n

\n*    * <\/font><\/p>\n

\nThe girls you mention in your letter are the powers of the
\nMother on different planes. Your experiences are very
\ngood\u2014your present condition is good\u2014sadhana also is
\ngoing on well. The difficulties come from the outer nature
\njust to disturb you. Never accept them. <\/font><\/p>\n

\n*<\/font><\/p>\n

\n *   * <\/font><\/p>\n

\nIt is no imagination. The Mother has many personalities,
\n<\/i>each having a different form. They reveal themselves at
\ntimes in her body. The Mother comes down with light and
\npower in tune with her sari. For each colour represents a <\/font><\/p>\n

\nforce. <\/font><\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n

\n*<\/font><\/p>\n

\n *    * <\/font><\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n

\nWhat you have seen is perfectly true. There is a centre of
\nconsciousness in the throat, and that is the centre of the
\nexternalising mind or the physical mental; that is to say, the
\nmind that has the experience of speech,<\/i> the mind that sees <\/font><\/p>\n

\neverything of the physical<\/i> and is busy with it. The
\nLower part
\nof the head and the mouth are in its possession. If this mind
\nis connected with the higher or inner consciousness and
\nexpresses them, then it is good. But it has a more intimate
\nconnection with Muladhar which is the centre of the lower
\nvital and physical consciousness.<\/i> That is why it happens so. It
\nis very necessary to control that mind and speech so that it
\ncan be accustomed to express the inner and the higher
\nconsciousness and not the inert and the lower consciousness. <\/font><\/p>\n

\nThis kind of going down into the physical consciousness
\ntakes place in all the sadhaks, for without going down the
\ntransformation of nature is difficult. <\/font><\/p>\n

\nIt is a very good opening\u2014the light of truth coming down
\nfrom the Sun is a truth high above the higher mind. <\/font><\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n

\n*    *<\/font><\/p>\n

\nThe consciousness is opening towards the higher truth.
\nThe golden peacock is the victory of truth. The Mother’s
\nForce is descending down to the physical. As a result, the
\ngolden light is descending and you are advancing quickly
\ntowards the Mother. <\/font><\/p>\n

\n

\nThat part is the most unconscious which is behind the body
\nand becomes illumined last of all. What you have seen is
\ntrue. <\/font><\/p>\n

\nYes, what you have seen is correct. There are seven
\nlotuses or seven circles above the head. But unless the higher
\nmind is opened they cannot be seen. <\/font><\/p>\n

\nWhat you have felt i^ the infinite vast of the higher
\nconsciousness, of something that is above. The head that
\ncomes circling down is of course not a gross physical head,
\nbut the mind-intellect. It goes up into the vast and comes
\ndown that way. <\/font><\/p>\n

\n* <\/font><\/p>\n

\n*     * <\/font><\/p>\n

\nThere are two states of void. One is physical, the inert
\n(tamasic) material stillness within oneself. The other is that
\nwhich precedes the descent of a vast peace and the sense of
\nthe self of the higher consciousness. One has to see which of
\nthe two has come, for both result in a stillnes and the
\nconsciousness is left void. <\/font><\/p>\n

\nThe gifts of Maheshwari are peace, equanimity and that
\nwideness of liberation. Because you need these things the <\/font><\/p>\n

\nMother appears before you at your call. <\/font><\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n

\nThis is a union of your inner mind and the inner mind of
\nthe Mother. In the forehead is the centre of the mind. When
\nunion takes place, then it awakens an attraction in the inner
\nmind for the divine truth and it begins to rise. <\/font><\/p>\n

\n*<\/font><\/p>\n

\n*    *<\/font><\/p>\n

\nA constant good state, a constant inner vision of the
\nMother do not fall to the lot of even the best of sadhaks.
\nThese can take place only when the sadhana has reached the
\nstage of fulfilment. Every one has states of void as well as of
\nfullness. Even in the void one should remain calm. <\/font><\/p>\n
