And entered where the Wings

\n\t\t\t\tIn the sunlit

Indifferent to doubt and to

Avid of the naked real’s single shock<\/p>\n

He shore the
\n\t\t\t\tcord of mind that ties the earth-heart<\/p>\n

And cast away the yoke

The body’s rules bound not the spirit’s

Its law of opposition of the Gods,<\/p>\n

Its list of
\n\t\t\t\tinseparable contraries.<\/p>\n

<\/P><\/p>\n

The dumb great Mother in her cosmic
\n\t\t\t\ttrance<\/p>\n

<\/P><\/p>\n

Exploiting for creation’s Joy and pain<\/p>\n

<\/P><\/p>\n

Infinity’s
\n\t\t\t\tsanction to the birth of form,<\/p>\n

<\/P><\/p>\n

Accepts indomitably to
\n\t\t\t\texecute<\/p>\n

<\/P><\/p>\n

The will to know in an inconscient world,<\/p>\n

<\/P><\/p>\n

The thirst for rapture in

The cry of birth

And to discern the

He raised his eyes to unseen spiritual

Aspiring to bring down a greater world.<\/p>\n

The glory
\n\t\t\t\the had glimpsed must be his home.<\/p>\n

A brighter heavenlier sun
\n\t\t\t\tmust soon illume<\/p>\n

<\/P><\/p>\n

This dusk room with its dark internal
\n\t\t\t\tstair,<\/p>\n

<\/P><\/p>\n

The infant soul in its small nursery school<\/p>\n

<\/P><\/p>\n

Mid
\n\t\t\t\tobjects meant for a lesson hardly learned<\/p>\n

<\/P><\/p>\n

Outgrow its early
\n\t\t\t\tgrammar of intellect<\/p>\n

<\/P><\/p>\n

And its imitation of Earth-Nature’s
\n\t\t\t\tart,<\/p>\n

<\/P><\/p>\n

Its earthly dialect to God-language change,<\/p>\n

<\/P><\/p>\n

In living
\n\t\t\t\tsymbols study Reality<\/p>\n

<\/P><\/p>\n

And learn the logic of the Infinite.<\/p>\n

<\/P><\/p>\n

The
\n\t\t\t\tIdeal must be Nature’s common truth,<\/p>\n

<\/P><\/p>\n

The body illumined with
\n\t\t\t\tthe indwelling God,<\/p>\n

<\/P><\/p>\n

The heart and mind feel one with all that
\n\t\t\t\tis, <\/FONT><\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t<\/P>
\n\t\t\t\t


\n\t\t\t\tA conscious soul

\n\t\t\t\tThere is no
\n\t\t\t\tperfect answer to our hopes; <\/FONT>

\n\t\t\t\t


\n\t\t\t\tThere are blind
\n\t\t\t\tvoiceless doors that have no key; <\/FONT>
\n\t\t\t\t<\/P>
\n\t\t\t\t


\n\t\t\t\tThought climbs
\n\t\t\t\tin vain and brings a borrowed light, <\/FONT>
\n\t\t\t\t<\/P>
\n\t\t\t\t


\n\t\t\t\tCheated by
\n\t\t\t\tcounterfeits sold to us in life’s mart, <\/FONT>
\n\t\t\t\t<\/P>
\n\t\t\t\t


\n\t\t\t\tOur hearts
\n\t\t\t\tclutch at a forfeited heavenly bliss. <\/FONT>
\n\t\t\t\t<\/P>
\n\t\t\t\t


\n\t\t\t\tThere is
\n\t\t\t\tprovender for the mind’s satiety, <\/FONT>
\n\t\t\t\t<\/P>
\n\t\t\t\t


\n\t\t\t\tThere are
\n\t\t\t\tthrills of the flesh, but not the soul’s desire. <\/FONT>
\n\t\t\t\t<\/P>
\n\t\t\t\t


\n\t\t\t\tHere even the
\n\t\t\t\thighest rapture Time can give <\/FONT>
\n\t\t\t\t<\/P>
\n\t\t\t\t


\n\t\t\t\tIs a mimicry of
\n\t\t\t\tungrasped beatitudes, <\/FONT>
\n\t\t\t\t<\/P>
\n\t\t\t\t


\n\t\t\t\tA mutilated
\n\t\t\t\tstatue of ecstasy, <\/FONT>
\n\t\t\t\t<\/P>
\n\t\t\t\t

His life a story too common to
\n\t\t\t\tbe told,<\/p>\n

<\/P><\/p>\n

His deeds a number summing up to nought,<\/p>\n

<\/P><\/p>\n

His
\n\t\t\t\tconsciousness a torch lit to be quenched,<\/p>\n

<\/P><\/p>\n

His hope a star
\n\t\t\t\tabove a cradle and grave.<\/p>\n

<\/P><\/p>\n

And yet a greater destiny may be
\n\t\t\t\this, <\/FONT><\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t<\/P>
\n\t\t\t\t


\n\t\t\t\tFor the eternal
\n\t\t\t\tSpirit is his truth.<\/P><\/p>\n

He can re-create himself and all
