These latter terms also mean the seven sages, the seven lustres of Agni, his sons; burning powers of the Light; divine or human types of the seer-will. One thing is clear that the word Angiras is used in the Veda not merely as a name of a certain family of Rishis, but &#8216; with a distinct meaning inherent in the word;<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Times New Roman\">it must have meant flaming, glowing; used as an epithet, a name of Agni, etc. The word Angirasa, when used in the sense of &quot;relating to Angiras&quot; or as a patronymic from Angiras, is pronounced Angirasa.
