You spoke of Sri Aurobindo’s birth as \u201ceternal\u201d in the history of the
\nuniverse. What exactly was meant by \u201ceternal\u201d?<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

The sentence can be understood in four
\ndifferent ways on four ascending planes of consciousness: <\/span><\/p>\n

1. Physically, the consequence of the
\nbirth will be of eternal importance to the world. <\/span><\/p>\n

2. Mentally, it is a birth that will be
\neternally remembered in the universal history. <\/span><\/p>\n

3. Psychically, a birth that recurs for
\never from age to age upon earth. <\/span><\/p>\n

4. Spiritually, the birth of the Eternal
\nupon earth. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

Since the beginning of earth history, Sri
\nAurobindo has always presided over the great earthly transformations, under one
\nform or another, one name or another. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span>     <\/span>It is said that Sri Aurobindo in a past life took an active part in the
\nFrench Revolution. Is it true? <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

You can say that all through history Sri
\nAurobindo played an active part. Especially in the most important movements of
\nhistory he was there \u00ad\u00ad\u2013 and playing the most important, the leading part. But
\nhe was not always visible. <\/span><\/p>\n

\nreveals himself to those who are ready to see and hear him. <\/span><\/p>\n

 Sri Aurobindo, immense and very concrete (in
\nthe subtle physical), was sitting over the whole compound during the
\nmeditation. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

Last night, we (you and I and some others)
\nwere together for quite a long time in the permanent dwelling-place of Sri
\nAurobindo which exists in the subtle physical (what Sri Aurobindo called the
\ntrue physical). <\/span><\/p>\n

1 February 1963<\/span><\/i> <\/span><\/p>\n

Sri Aurobindo is in the subtle physical,
\nyou can meet him when you sleep, if you know how to go there.<\/span><\/p>\n

13 August 1964<\/span><\/i> <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

(During sleep a sadhak had a vision of Sri Aurobindo in his subtle
\nphysical body living in the subtle physical world. He sent a report of his
\nvision to Mother, who replied:)<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Sri Aurobindo shows himself according to
\nthe need of each one and in the subtle physical the things are not as fixed as
\nthey are here. <\/span><\/p>\n

Attach more importance to the feeling
\nproduced by the vision than to details of what you have seen.  <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

The whole day, from very early in the morning, Sri Aurobindo has been
\never so present, so alive; at times I found it difficult to be quiet, I was just
\nbubbling over inside me. It was not quite correct to be so today, <\/span><\/i>was it Mother? But
\nSri Aurobindo was so near and so alive. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

On the contrary, it is quite correct, he
\nhas never been so alive as now!<\/span><\/p>\n

Sri Aurobindo is constantly in the subtle
\nphysical, very active there. I see him almost daily, and last night I spent
\nmany hours with him. <\/span><\/p>\n

If you become conscious in the subtle
\nphysical you will surely meet him, it is what he called the true physical – it
\nhas nothing to do with the psychic.<\/span><\/p>\n

The help of Sri Aurobindo is constant: it
\nis for us to know how to receive it. <\/span><\/p>\n

Sri Aurobindo is always with us,
\nenlightening, guiding, protecting. We must answer to his grace by a perfect
\nfaithfulness.<\/span><\/p>\n
