The Divine is what you adore in Sri
\nAurobindo. <\/span><\/p>\n

How beautiful is the day when one can
\noffer one’s devotion to Sri Aurobindo. <\/span><\/p>\n

You must feel that Sri Aurobindo is
\nlooking at you. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

 It is not a question of disobedience. I
\nknow nothing about your additions to the Life Sketch of the sources from which
\nthey were taken. My point of view is this, that anything written by a sadhak
\nabout Sri Aurobindo which brings him down to an ordinary level and admits the
\nreader to a sort of gossiping familiarity with him is an unfaithfulness to Him
\nand His work. Good intentions are not sufficient; it is necessary that this
\nshould be understood by everybody.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sri Aurobindo says that it is impossible
\nfor him to take up political action and enter the political field which would
\ninvolve a sacrifice of his spiritual work. <\/span><\/p>\n

His spiritual help is given to the country
\nand individually to all those who aspire for it. He is ready to continue this
\nhelp and even to increase it if it is necessary. But he is convinced<\/span> <\/span>that written messages alone are not
\nsufficient to have a permanent effect or even a sufficiently wide effect. <\/span><\/p>\n

\n\u2013 is the perfect manifestation having at its centre the Avatar of the Supreme \u2013
\nthe lotus. <\/span><\/p>\n

The water \u2013 inside the square \u2013 represents
\nthe multiplicity, the creation.<\/span><\/p>\n

His Grace is always with those who want to

 <\/span>             <\/span>Somebody wants to visit Sri Aurobindo’s room again and sit there to
\nmeditate for some time.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

What are his qualifications and titles to
\nsuch a great privilege? <\/span><\/p>\n

Visiting again is all right. People can
\ncome to Sri Aurobindo’s room. But to be allowed to sit and meditate there, one
\nmust have done much for Sri Aurobindo.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

Sweet Mother, You have said that to be allowed to sit in Sri Aurobindo’s
\nroom and meditate there, \u201cone must have done much for Him\u201d. What do you mean by
\nthat, Mother? What can one do for the Lord which will be this \u201cmuch\u201d? <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

To do something for the Lord is to give
\nHim something of what one has, or of what one does, or of what one is. That is
\nto say, to offer to Him one part of our goods or all of our possessions,  <\/span><\/p>\n

to consecrate to Him one part of our work
\nor all our activities, or to give ourselves to Him totally and without reserve
\nso that He may take possession of our nature in order to transform and divinise
\nit. But there are many people who, without giving anything, always want to take
\nand to receive. These people are selfish and unworthy to meditate in Sri
\nAurobindo’s room.<\/span><\/p>\n

A day will come, I hope, when we shall be
\nable to tell freely and truly all that Sri Aurobindo’s Presence has meant for
\nthe town of <\/span>Pondicherry<\/span>…<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span>Some time ago you advised me to \u201cgo beyond all human representations and
\napproach the Supreme directly\u201d.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

I used to turn to Sri Aurobindo. I would place my
\ndifficulties before him and pray to him; I nearly always had an answer. Now I
\nno longer think of him, I no longer turn to him. I turn directly to the Lord,
\nbut my voice seems to be crying in the wilderness. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Am I right in cutting off this relationship with Sri Aurobindo? <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

There is no question and there can never
\nbe any question of cutting off the relationship with Sri Aurobindo. If you have
\nthe privilege of being conscious of his answer, keep it like a precious
\ntreasure, and make the best use of it. Through Sri Aurobindo you will come into
\ncontact with the Supreme and be quite sure of not going astray.<\/span><\/p>\n
