The Prayers are a<br \/>\nrecord of Mother\u2019s experiences.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoPlainText\" align=\"right\" style='margin:0;text-align:right;line-height:200%'><i><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>4 January 1939<\/span><\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoPlainText\" style=\"line-height: 200%;margin: 0\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoPlainText\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:200%'><i><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>In some of the Mother\u2019s Prayers which are addressed to \u201cdivin<br \/>\nMa\u00eetre\u201d I find the words: \u201cavec notre divine M\u00e8re\u201d. How can the Mother and<br \/>\n\u201cdivin Ma\u00eetre\u201d have a \u201cdivine M\u00e8re\u201d? It is as if the Mother was not the \u201cdivine<br \/>\nM\u00e8re\u201d and there was some other Mother and the \u201cdivin Ma\u00eetre\u201d was not the<br \/>\nTranscendent and had also a \u201cdivine M\u00e8re\u201d! Or is it that all these are<br \/>\naddressed to something impersonal?<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoPlainText\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:200%'><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoPlainText\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:200%'><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>The Prayers are mostly written in an<br \/>\nidentification with the earth-consciousness. It is Mother in the lower nature addressing<br \/>\nthe Mother in the higher nature, the Mother herself carrying on the Sadhana of<br \/>\nthe earth-consciousness for the transformation, praying to herself above from<br \/>\nwhom the forces of transformation come. This continues till the identification<br \/>\nof the earth-consciousness and the higher consciousness is effected. The word<br \/>\n\u201cnotre\u201d is general, I believe, referring to all born into the<br \/>\nearth-consciousness \u2013 it does not mean the Mother of the \u201cDivin Ma\u00eetre\u201d and<br \/>\nmyself. It is the Divine who is always referred to as Divin Ma\u00eetre and<br \/>\nSeigneur. There is the Mother who is carrying on the Sadhana and the Divine<br \/>\nMother, both being one but in different poises, and both turn to the Seigneur<br \/>\nor Divine Master. This kind of prayer from the Divine to the Divine you will find<br \/>\nalso in the Ramayana and the Mahabharata.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoPlainText\" align=\"right\" style='margin:0;text-align:right;line-height:200%'><i><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>21 August 1936<\/span><\/i><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoPlainText\" align=\"center\" style='margin:0;text-align:center;line-height:200%'>\n<span lang=\"EN-GB\" style='font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><font size=\"3\">Page &#8211; <\/font><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman\"><font size=\"3\">379<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"MsoPlainText\" align=\"center\" style='text-align:center'><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style='color:blue'><\/p>\n<hr size=\"2\" width=\"100%\" align=\"center\">\n<p><\/span><\/div>\n<p class=\"MsoPlainText\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:200%'><i><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>There are some Prayers of the Mother of 1914 in which she speaks<br \/>\nof transformation and manifestation. Since at that time she was not here, does<br \/>\nthis not mean that she had these ideas long before she came here?<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoPlainText\" style=\"line-height: 200%;margin: 0\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoPlainText\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:200%'><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>The Mother had been spiritually conscious<br \/>\nfrom her youth, even from her childhood upward and she had done Sadhana and had<br \/>\ndeveloped this knowledge very long before she came to <\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:  \"Times New Roman\"'>India<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"right\" style='margin:0;text-align:right;text-indent:-.25in;line-height:200%'>\n<span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Times New Roman' lang=\"EN-GB\">23<span style='font:7.0pt \"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>December 1933<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoPlainText\" style=\"line-height: 200%;margin: 0\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoPlainText\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:200%'><i><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>There are many who hold the view that she was human but now<br \/>\nembodies the Divine Mother and her \u201cPrayers\u201d, they say, explain this view. But,<br \/>\nto my mental conception, to my psychic being, she is the Divine Mother who has<br \/>\nconsented to put on her the cloak of obscurity and suffering and ignorance so<br \/>\nthat she can effectively lead us \u2013 human beings \u2013 to Knowledge and Bliss and<br \/>\nAnanda and to the Supreme Lord.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoPlainText\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:200%'><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoPlainText\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:200%'><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>The Divine puts on an appearance of<br \/>\nhumanity, assumes the outward human nature in order to tread the path and show<br \/>\nit to human beings, but does not cease to be the Divine. It is a manifestation<br \/>\nthat takes place, a manifestation of a growing divine consciousness, not human<br \/>\nturning into divine.
