\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>Often
\n we cling to that which was, afraid of losing the result of a previous
\n experience, of giving up a vast and high consciousness and falling again into
\n an inferior state. But we must always look forward and advance. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>The
\n very memory of the past experience has sometimes to be swept away from the
\n thoughts that it may not impede the work of perpetual reconstruction which
\n alone, in this world of relativities, permits the perfect manifestation of
\n the Divine. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>Beware
\n of the charm of memories. What past experiences leave behind is the effect
\n they have had on the growth of the consciousness. But when you try to relive
\n a memory by putting yourself in similar circumstances, you soon realise that
\n they are empty of their power and charm, for they have lost their usefulness
\n for progress. <\/span><\/p>\n

\n remembrance: the remembrance of that which has helped the being to progress. <\/span><\/p>\n

\n remembrance: only those circumstances which helped us in our seeking for the
\n Divine must be the object of this remembrance. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>At
\n certain periods, the whole terrestrial life seems to pass miraculously
\n through stages which, at other times, it would take thousands of years to
\n traverse. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>At
\n every moment one must know how to lose everything in order to gain
\n everything, to shed the past as a dead body and be reborn into a greater
\n plenitude. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>For
\n each person, everything depends on knowing whether one belongs to the past
\n that perpetuates itself, to the present that is exhausting itself or to the
\n future that longs to be born. <\/span><\/p>\n

16 February 1963<\/span><\/i> <\/span><\/i> <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>To
\n do yoga, one of the most important things to achieve is to get rid of all
\n attachment to the past. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>Let
\n the past be past and concentrate only on the progress you want to make and
\n the surrender to the Divine you have to achieve. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>My
\n blessings and help are always with you. <\/span><\/p>\n

\n we break with the habits and beliefs of the past, there is little hope of
\n advancing rapidly towards the future. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>To
\n forget the past and to lose habits of thinking is indeed a difficult thing
\n and generally requires a strong \u201ctapasya\u201d. But if you have faith in the
\n Divine\u2019s Grace and you implore it full-heartedly, you will succeed more
\n easily. <\/span><\/p>\n

\n the waves of the past flow far from you, carrying away with them all

\n luminous joy of the divine consciousness is waiting ready to take their

\n future is necessarily better than the past. We have only to push forward. <\/span><\/p>\n

\n ! Towards a better future, the realisation of tomorrow. <\/span><\/p>\n
