THE NEW CONSCIOUSNESS<\/span><\/b>\u00b9<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

To be able to receive the new consciousness without deforming it:<\/span><\/p>\n

One must be able
\nto stand in the light of the Supreme Consciousness without casting a shadow. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>There is only one new fact −
\nfrom the beginning of this year a new consciousness has manifested and is
\nworking energetically to prepare the earth for the new creation. <\/span><\/p>\n

17 April 1969<\/span><\/i> <\/span><\/p>\n

Of late, I am constantly feeling, flowing
\nin my system from above, a Force which I concretely experience like a sweet
\nfluid. It flows continuously in my whole system and, from time to time, I feel
\ncompletely drenched and saturated with it. It gives a very pleasant and
\nsoothing sensation. It is as if some sort of Ananda<\/span>
\nis flowing in me from above. It gives a sweet taste in the mouth. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>I
\ndo not know what exactly this experience means. Is it the New Consciousness
\nwhich You have said came on the 1st January this year? Or is it some new
\ndescent which has recently occurred? Or is it something personal to me only? <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

It is the
\nConsciousness that is at work since January. But its action has become much
\nmore intense. <\/span><\/p>\n

\nconsciousness manifested upon earth on <\/font> <\/span>1 January 1969<\/span><\/font>. Its
\ncharacteristics are described in several talks of January 1969, where the
\nMother called it the superman consciousness (la conscience du<\/span> surhomme<\/span><\/i>)
\nThese talks appear in Notes on the Way<\/i>,
\nVolume 11 of the Collected Works of the Mother. <\/font><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

In 1919 Sri Aurobindo<\/span>
\nwrote that the chaos and the calamities were perhaps the pangs of the birth of
\na new creation. How long is this going to continue? In the Ashram, in <\/span><\/i>India<\/span><\/i> and eventually in
\nthe world? <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

It will continue
\nuntil the world is ready and willing to receive the new creation; the
\nconsciousness of this new creation is already at work upon earth since the
\nbeginning of this year. If instead of resisting, people were collaborating, it
\nwould be quicker. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>But stupidity and ignorance are very
\nobstinate! <\/span><\/p>\n

Mother, \u201cThe world is preparing for a big
\nchange, will you help?\u201d<\/span><\/i>\u00b9 What is this great change of
\nwhich you speak? And how are we to be of help to it? <\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

This great change is
\nthe appearance upon earth of a new race which will be for man what man is for
\nthe animal. The consciousness of this new race is already at work upon earth to
\nenlighten all who are able to receive it and heed it. <\/span><\/p>\n

You have asked us to help You. How can I
\nhelp You? What am I to do? <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

To concentrate and
\nopen to receive the new progressive consciousness, to receive the new things
\nwhich are coming down. <\/span><\/p>\n

\nConsciousness that descended last year, what should a sadhak<\/span>
\ndo? <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

1) Be receptive<\/span><\/p>\n

and<\/span><\/p>\n

2) Be plastic<\/span><\/p>\n

\nprepare ourselves to receive the new consciousness is a true and spontaneous
\nhumility which makes us feel deeply that we know nothing and are nothing in the
