What is Consciousness? <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

When the Lord
\nbecomes conscious of Himself, the world is created. <\/span><\/p>\n

Consciousness is the breath that gives life to all. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

Sweet Mother, please tell me the meaning
\nof \u201cconsciousness\u201d. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

Without
\nconsciousness you would not even know that you live. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

Consciousness is the faculty of becoming aware of anything through
\nidentification. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Divine Consciousness is not only aware but knows and effects. To
\nbecome aware of a vibration, for instance, does not mean that you know
\neverything about it. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

In the Divine Consciousness the smallest things from below unite with the
\nhighest, the most sublime from above. <\/span><\/p>\n

Does the Divine exist in all things, even

The whole universe
\nis the manifestation of the Divine, but a manifestation which begins with a
\ntotal unconsciousness of its origin and rises little by little towards this
\nconsciousness. <\/span><\/p>\n

Do not forget even for a moment that all this has been created by Him
\nout of Himself. Not only is He present in everything, but also He is
\neverything. The differences are only in expression and manifestation. <\/span><\/p>\n

If you forget this you lose everything. <\/span><\/p>\n

There is no end to the wonders of the universe. <\/span><\/p>\n

The more we get free from the limits of our small ego, the more these
\nwonders disclose themselves to us. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Lord will possess His universe perfectly only when the universe will
\nhave become the Lord. <\/span><\/p>\n

THE DIVINE WORKING IN THE UNIVERSE<\/span><\/b><\/a><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

The universe is a finite whole, but its content is infinite; the changes
\nwhich occur in this infinity result from the action of Essence on substance,
\nfrom the penetration, the permeation of <\/span>quantity by
\nquality, <\/span><\/p>\n

\nwhich brings about a constant and progressive organisation and
\nreorganisation of the content of the universe. <\/span><\/p>\n

At every minute the universe is created in its totality and in each of
\nits parts. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

No two combinations, no two movements in the universe are similar;
\nnothing is reproduced exactly. There are analogies, there are similarities, there
\nare families, families of movements that can be called families of vibrations,
\nbut there are no two things that are identical, neither in time nor in space.
\nNothing is repeated, otherwise there would be no manifestation, no becoming;
\nthere would be only one creation, one single thing. <\/span><\/p>\n

The manifestation is just this diversity. It is the One that unfolds
\nitself in the Many − endlessly. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

On the physical plane the Divine expresses himself through beauty, on
\nthe mental plane through knowledge, on the vital plane through power and on the
\npsychic plane through love. <\/span><\/p>\n

When we rise high enough, we discover that these four aspects unite with
\neach other in a single consciousness, full of love, luminous, powerful,
\nbeautiful, containing all, pervading all. <\/span><\/p>\n

It is only to satisfy the universal play that this consciousness divides
\nitself into several lines or aspects of manifestation. <\/span><\/p>\n

This world is a chaos in which darkness and light, falsehood <\/span>and truth,
\n <\/span><\/p>\n

\ndeath
\nand life, ugliness and beauty, hate and love are so closely intertwined that it
\nis almost impossible to distinguish one from the other, still more impossible
\nto disentangle them and put an end to an embrace which has the horror of a
\npitiless struggle, all the more keen because veiled, especially in human
\nconsciousness where the conflict changes into an anguish for knowledge, for
\npower, for conquest, − a combat obscure and painful, all the more
\natrocious because it seems to be without issue, but capable of a solution on a
\nlevel above the sensations and feelings and ideas, beyond the domain of the
\nmind − in the Divine Consciousness. <\/span><\/p>\n

The manifestation will overcome all difficulties, for manifestation
\nmeans the overcoming of all difficulties. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

One Divine Consciousness is here working through all these beings,
\npreparing its way through all these manifestations. At this day it is here at
\nwork upon earth more powerfully than it has ever been before. <\/span><\/p>\n

I would say: may the world become aware that the Divine is manifesting. <\/span><\/p>\n

O, to see no longer the appearances which change incessantly; to
\ncontemplate only the Divine\u2019s immutable oneness in everything and everywhere ! <\/span><\/p>\n

If one looks at outer forms no longer in themselves, for themselves, in
\ntheir appearance alone, but as the expression of a deeper and more abiding
\nreality, then all of them − as well as all circumstances and events −
\nbecome symbolic of the Force that is behind and that uses them for its
\nself-expression. <\/span><\/p>\n

For a certain state of consciousness, there is not a single
\ncircumstance, not a form, an action or a movement that is not expressive of a
\ndeeper or higher, more abiding, more essential and truer reality. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

Behind the appearances there is a subtle reality much closer to Truth;
\nit is that one we are trying to show you. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

Upon this world of illusion, this sombre nightmare, the Divine has
\nbestowed His sublime Reality, and each atom of matter contains something of His
\nEternity. <\/span><\/p>\n

Is it not, for the Divine, a supreme sacrifice to renounce the beatitude
\nof His unity in order to create the painful multiplicity of the world? <\/span><\/p>\n

Poor Divine ! Of what an amount of horrors He is accused. <\/span><\/p>\n

If these accusations were true, what a monster He would be, He who in
\ntruth is all-compassion.  <\/span><\/p>\n

It is wrong to say that the world, as it is, is made according to the
\nDivine\u2019s Will. If it were so, <\/span><\/p>\n

(a) All the wickedness of the world would be the Divine\u2019s wickedness. <\/span><\/p>\n

(b) There would be no need to change either oneself or the world. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

All things considered, looking at the world as it is and as it seems it must
\nbe irremediably, the human intellect has decreed that this world must be a
\nmistake on the part of God and that the manifestation or creation is surely the
\nresult of desire, desire to manifest oneself, desire to know oneself, desire to
\nenjoy oneself. Therefore the only thing to do is to put an end to this mistake
\nas soon as possible by refusing to cling to desire and its deadly consequences.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

But the Supreme Lord answers that the comedy has not yet been completely
\nplayed out, and He adds, \u201cWait for the last act; no doubt you will change your
\nmind.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

When the physical world will manifest the divine splendour, all will be
\nmarvellous. <\/span><\/p>\n

The whole creation speaks of the Divine to him who knows how to hear
\nwithin his heart. <\/span><\/p>\n
