We shall feed upon delight like the radiant<br \/>\ngods. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><i><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><i><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>Victory<br \/>\nengenders enmity, and one who is vanquished lives in distress. The man of peace<br \/>\nlives in gladness, disdaining both victory and defeat. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><i><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><i><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>There<br \/>\nis no greater fire than lust, no greater misfortune than hatred. There is no<br \/>\ngreater misery than existence, no bliss greater than the Supreme Peace. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><i><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><i><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>Hunger<br \/>\nis the worst malady; existence is the worst calamity. One who has understood<br \/>\nthis realises that Nirvana is the Supreme Happiness. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><i><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><i><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>Health<br \/>\nis the greatest acquisition, contentment the greatest treasure. A faithful<br \/>\nfriend is the best companion and Nirvana the Supreme Happiness. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><i><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><i><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>Having<br \/>\ntasted the sweetness of solitude and the <\/span><\/i><br \/>\n<i><br \/>\n<span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" align=\"center\" style='margin:0;text-align:center;line-height:150%'>\n<span style='font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>Page -252<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" align=\"center\" style='text-align:center'><span style='font-size:18.0pt;font-family:\"Courier New\";color:#E69619'><\/p>\n<hr size=\"2\" width=\"100%\" align=\"center\">\n<p><\/span><\/div>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><i><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>Supreme<br \/>\nPeace, a man is liberated from suffering and evil, for he partakes of the<br \/>\nsweetness of devotion to the Truth.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><i><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><i><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>It is<br \/>\ngood to contemplate the Noble Ones; to live near them is an endless happiness.<br \/>\nOne could be always happy by avoiding the sight of fools. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><i><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><i><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>One<br \/>\nwho frequents fools is bound to suffer long; the company of fools is as painful<br \/>\nas that of enemies. To live in the company of the sages is to share the<br \/>\nhappiness of one who lives among his kinsmen. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><i><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><i><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>Seek<br \/>\ntherefore the company of the sage who is steadfast, learned, wise, devoted and<br \/>\nnoble. Follow the example of such a good and wise being, as the moon follows<br \/>\nthe path of the stars. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>One of these verses is very beautiful. We could translate it like<br \/>\nthis: \u201cHappy is he who possesses nothing, he will partake of the delight of the<br \/>\nradiant gods.\u201d To possess nothing does not at all mean not to make use of<br \/>\nanything, not to have anything at one&#8217;s disposal. \u201cHappy is he who possesses<br \/>\nnothing\u201d: he is someone who has no sense of possession, who can make use of<br \/>\nthings when they come to him, knowing that they are not his, that they belong<br \/>\nto the Supreme, and who, for the same reason, does not regret it when things<br \/>\nleave him; he finds it quite natural that the Lord who gave him these things<br \/>\nshould take them away from him for others to enjoy. Such a man finds equal joy<br \/>\nin the use of things as in the absence of things. When you have them at your disposal,<br \/>\nyou receive them as a gift of Grace and when they leave you, when they have<br \/>\nbeen taken away from you, you live in the joy of destitution. For it is the<br \/>\nsense of ownership that makes you cling to things, makes you their slave,<br \/>\notherwise one could live in constant joy and in the ceaseless movement of &nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" align=\"center\" style='margin:0;text-align:center;line-height:150%'>\n<span style='font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>Page \u2013 253<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" align=\"center\" style='text-align:center'><span style='font-size:18.0pt;font-family:\"Courier New\";color:#E69619'><\/p>\n<hr size=\"2\" width=\"100%\" align=\"center\">\n<p><\/span><\/div>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>things that come and go and pass, that bring with them both the<br \/>\nsense of fullness when they are there and, when they go, the delight of<br \/>\ndetachment. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;text-indent:.25in;line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>Delight! Delight means to live in the<br \/>\nTruth, to live in communion with Eternity, with the true Life, the Light that<br \/>\nnever fails. Delight means to be free, free with the true Freedom, the Freedom<br \/>\nof the constant, invariable union with the Divine Will. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;text-indent:.25in;line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>Gods are those that are immortal, who are<br \/>\nnot bound to the vicissitudes of material life in all its narrowness,<br \/>\npettiness, unreality and falsehood. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;text-indent:.25in;line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>Gods are those who are turned to the<br \/>\nLight, who live in the Power and the Knowledge; that is what the Buddha means,<br \/>\nhe does not mean the gods of religion.
