it is equally hard to enjoy the world. Difficult<br \/>\nand sorrowful is household life. It is painful to be with those who are not our<br \/>\nequals and it is painful to wander in the cycle of births. Therefore, do not<br \/>\nfollow after sorrow nor be a wanderer without a goal. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><i><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><i><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>The<br \/>\nman who is full of faith and goodness, who possesses glory and wealth, is<br \/>\nrevered wherever he goes. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><i><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><i><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>Men<br \/>\nof goodness shine afar like the snowy peaks of the <\/span><\/i><i><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>Himalayas<\/span><\/i><i><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>.<br \/>\nWhereas wicked men are no more visible than arrows shot in the night. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><i><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><i><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>The<br \/>\nman who eats alone, sleeps alone, walks alone untiring in his self-mastery,<br \/>\nwill delight in the solitary life of the forests. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>Still you should not be mistaken. For I believe all these are<br \/>\nimages rather than material facts, because it is quite certain that<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" align=\"center\" style='margin:0;text-align:center;line-height:150%'>\n<span style='font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>Page \u2013 275<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"MsoPlainText\" align=\"center\" style='text-align:center'><span style='font-family:\"Times New Roman\";color:blue'><\/p>\n<hr size=\"2\" width=\"100%\" align=\"center\">\n<p><\/span><\/div>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>eating alone, sleeping alone, living in the forest all alone is<br \/>\nnot enough to give you freedom of spirit.<span>\u00a0\u00a0<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;text-indent:.25in;line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>It has been noticed that most people who<br \/>\nlive alone in the forest become friendly with all the animals and plants around<br \/>\nthem; but it is not at all the fact of being all alone that gives you the power<br \/>\nof entering into an inner contemplation and living in communion with the<br \/>\nSupreme Truth. Perhaps it is easier, when by force of circumstance you have<br \/>\nnothing else to do, but I am not convinced of it. One can always invent<br \/>\noccupations and it seems to me, according to my experience of life, that if one<br \/>\nsucceeds in subduing one&#8217;s nature in the midst of difficulties, if one<br \/>\nendeavours to be all alone within oneself with the eternal Presence, while<br \/>\nkeeping the same surroundings which the Grace has given us, the realisation<br \/>\nwhich one obtains then is infinitely more true, more profound, more lasting. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;text-indent:.25in;line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>To run away from difficulties in order to<br \/>\nconquer them is not a solution. It is very attractive. In those who seek the<br \/>\nspiritual life, there is something which says, \u201cOh! to sit down under a tree,<br \/>\nall alone, to remain in meditation, not to have the temptation to speak or act,<br \/>\nhow fine it must be!\u201d It is because there is a very strong formation in this<br \/>\ndirection, but it is very illusory. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;text-indent:.25in;line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>The best meditations are those that one<br \/>\nhas all of a sudden, because they take possession of you as an imperative<br \/>\nnecessity. You have no choice but to concentrate, to meditate, to look beyond<br \/>\nthe appearances. And it is not necessarily in the solitude of the forest that<br \/>\nit seizes you, it happens when something in you is ready, when the time has<br \/>\ncome, when the true need is there, when the Grace is with you. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;text-indent:.25in;line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>It seems to me that humanity has made some<br \/>\nprogress and the true victory must be won in life itself. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;text-indent:.25in;line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>You must know how to live alone with the<br \/>\nEternal and Infinite in the midst of all circumstances. You must know how to be<br \/>\nfree, with the Supreme as your companion, in the midst of all occupations.
