Love is not sexual
\nintercourse. <\/span><\/p>\n

Love is not vital
\nattraction and interchange. <\/span><\/p>\n

Love is not the heart’s
\nhunger for affection. <\/span><\/p>\n

Love is a mighty
\nvibration coming straight from the One, and only the very pure and very strong
\nare capable of receiving and manifesting it. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>To
\nbe pure is to be open only to the Supreme’s<\/span> influence
\nand to no other.  <\/span><\/p>\n

\nnot like that the word love should be polluted to speak of sexual desire, the
\nhuman inheritance of the animal. <\/span><\/p>\n

You are making a great
\nconfusion between maternal sentiment which is, in the physical, an expression
\nof the force of the universal Mother, and the physical act of procreation which
\nis something wholly animal, most often even bestial, and which is only a means
\nthat Nature has found to perpetuate the different species. <\/span><\/p>\n

Sexual relations belong
\nto the past, when man was closer to the animal than to the Divine. All depends
\non what you expect from life, but if you sincerely want to do the Yoga, you

Sex seems rather to be more of the body.
\nIt is only when you pass from the lower to the higher hemisphere that you can
\ncompletely erase the thing. Sex belongs to Nature in her lower working and as
\nlong as you belong to that Nature, her working will be there automatically in

At present I am much disturbed by sex difficulty. My rejection is
\nnot of much value, and I feel confused. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Greed, greed, always
\ngreed… is the response of material nature. <\/span><\/p>\n

In whatever way the
\nDivine manifests there, it becomes at once an object of covetousness. A rush to
\nappropriate, an endeavour<\/span> to rob, exploit, squeeze,
\nswallow and in the end crush down the Divine, this is the receptivity of matter
\nto the divine touch.<\/span><\/p>\n

O my Lord, Thou comest<\/span> as the redeemer and these would make of Thee a dupe!
\nThou comest<\/span> for union, for transformation, for realisation<\/span>, and they think only of absorption and selfish
\nincrease. <\/span><\/p>\n

No half-measure would be

In short, what you want
\nis a Divine for yourself, who would have no other occupation than to satisfy
\nyou, a Divine whom you could see physically at every hour of the day or night,
\nwhom you could argue with at your leisure, whom you could live with, marry <\/span>―<\/span> for in its ideal principle, marriage is nothing else but that. <\/span><\/p>\n

But for it to be so,
\nthis Divine would have to be of your own size, your own stature. <\/span><\/p>\n

And towards what could
\nHe lead you if not towards yourself as
\nyou are<\/i>. Is this what you really want in the truth of your being? <\/span><\/p>\n

I refuse to believe it. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Child, you say to me,
\n\u201cTo love me is to do what I want.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

But I say to you that
\nfor the Divine to love truly is to do what is best for the one He loves. <\/span><\/p>\n

Each and every one, when
\nhe turns to the Divine, demands that He should do for him exactly what he asks.
\nWhereas the Divine does for each one what is best for him from all points of
\nview. But man, in his ignorance and blindness, revolts against the Divine when
\nhis desire is not satisfied, and says to Him, \u201cYou do not love me.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\nsay of your God: \u201cI have loved Him so much and yet He did not remain with me!\u201d
\nBut what kind of love have you given Him? In its essence, love is one, just as
\nconsciousness is one; but in the manifestation, it is coloured<\/span>
\nand differentiated  <\/p>\n

by each individual nature. If you are
\nimpure and egoistic, love in you will become impure and egoistic, narrow,
\nsectarian, limited, ambitious and possessive, violent, jealous, vulgar, brutal
\nand cruel. Is this the kind of love that can be offered to God? If you want
\nyour love to be worthy of the one you love, if you want to enjoy love in its eternal
\nperfection, become perfect, break out of the limitations of your ego, partake
\nof eternity. And then you will always be close to the object of your love, for
\nyou will grow into his likeness. <\/p>\n

It is said that one
\ngrows into the likeness of what one loves; but with regard to God it is also
\ntrue that one can remain always with Him only when one grows into His likeness. <\/span><\/p>\n

It is not through human
\nlove that one can learn to love the Divine, for the love is of quite a
\ndifferent nature. First learn to give yourself sincerely to the Divine and then
\nthe joy of love will come afterwards. By giving yourself sincerely all your
\ndifficulties will disappear. <\/span><\/p>\n

The true love for the
\nDivine is self-giving, free of demand, full of submission and surrender. It
\nmakes no claim, imposes no condition, strikes no bargain, indulges in no violences<\/span> of jealousy or pride or anger <\/span>―<\/span> for these things are not in its composition. <\/span><\/p>\n

\ndepression, but, on the contrary, fills the consciousness with the certitude of

Integral love for the
\nDivine: pure, complete and irrevocable, it is a love that gives itself for
\never. <\/span><\/p>\n

Flaming love for the
\nDivine: ready for all heroism and all sacrifice. <\/span><\/p>\n

To love truly the Divine
\nwe must rise above attachments. <\/span><\/p>\n

Love is with all,
\nworking for the progress of each one equally <\/span>―<\/span> but
\nit triumphs in those who care for it. <\/span><\/p>\n
