\nSURRENDER<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

\n <\/span><\/p>\n

Surrender: the decision
\nto hand over the responsibility of your life to the Divine. This is done either
\nthrough the mind or the emotion or the life-impulse or through all of them
\ntogether. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

To surrender to the
\nDivine is to renounce your narrow limits and let yourself be invaded by It and
\nmade a centre for Its play. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

If you are truly
\nsurrendered to the Divine, in the right manner and totally, then at every
\nmoment you will be what you ought to be, you will do what you ought to do, you
\nwill know what you ought to know. <\/span><\/p>\n

But for that you should
\nhave transcended all the limitations of the ego. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

True surrender enlarges
\nyou; it increases your capacity; it gives you a greater measure in quality and
\nin quantity, which you could not have had yourself. <\/span><\/p>\n

Detailed surrender: a
\nsurrender which does not forget anything.\u00a0
\n<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Detailed surrender means
\nthe surrender of all the details of life, even the smallest and the most
\ninsignificant in appearance. And this means to remember the Divine in all
\ncircumstances; whatever we think, feel or do, we must do it for Him as a way of
\ncoming close to Him, to be more and more what He wants us to be, capable of
\nmanifesting His will in perfect sincerity and purity, to be the instruments of
\nHis Love. <\/span><\/p>\n

If man surrenders
\ntotally to the Divine, he identifies himself with the Divine. <\/span><\/p>\n

Perfect surrender: the
\nindispensable condition for identification. <\/span><\/p>\n

In the integrality and
\nabsoluteness of bhakti<\/span> and surrender, we find the

Surrender:
\nto will what the Divine wills is the supreme wisdom. <\/span><\/p>\n

To will what God wills <\/span>―<\/span> that is the supreme secret. <\/span><\/p>\n

Will one with the Divine
\nwill: a condition that triumphs over all obstacles. <\/span> <\/p>\n

Divine Will <\/span>―<\/span> the will expressing the highest Truth. <\/span><\/p>\n

\nall circumstances, leaving the result to the Divine’s decision. <\/span><\/p>\n

We must be satisfied

The only thing you have
\nto do is to remain quiet, undisturbed, solely turned towards the Divine, the
\nrest is in His hands. <\/span><\/p>\n

One of the main problems of the present world is that the
\npopulation has increased enormously in the last 100 years. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

(1) How have so many souls evolved in such a short time? <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

(2) What will be the destiny of the world in regard to its
\npopulation? Will the numbers<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

go on increasing with the current speed or will there be at a
\ncertain period a drop without any artificial means?<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

(3) In case the population decreases in the future, what will be
\nthe fate of so many souls that have evolved so far? <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

There is a Supreme Consciousness that
\ngoverns the manifestation. His wisdom is certainly much greater than ours. So
\nwe need not bother about what will happen. <\/p>\n

The Lord is always
\nvictorious <\/span>―<\/span> in his own way, not in the human way <\/span>―<\/span> according to his own will, not according to the will of men. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Lord is always
\npresent <\/span>―<\/span> only we do not realise<\/span> it. <\/span><\/p>\n

We are always free to
\nmake our proposals to the Lord, but after all it is only His will that is realised<\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n

If one looks from high
\nenough, whatever one does one never wastes one’s time since one acts according
\nto one’s nature and <\/span>―<\/span> without knowing it <\/span>―<\/span> according to the will
\nof the Lord. <\/span><\/p>\n

Be quiet and offer yourself

All that happens is

\nDIFFICULTIES OF SURRENDER<\/a><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

It is rare that somebody
\ncan surrender entirely to the Divine’s Will without having to face one or
\nanother of the difficulties. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

How many efforts and
\nstruggles again to give ourselves, to surrender, once the individuality is
\nconstituted! <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

For if the struggle is
\nnot an actual one, that does not mean that it will not come one day in one form
\nor another. <\/span><\/p>\n

For always, at least
\nonce in our life, we are placed in some circumstance to test whether we are
\nready for an entire surrender <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

to the Divine Will; <\/span>
\n <\/p>\n

whether we are, before
\nall, human beings striving to attain and manifest the Godhead; ready to
\nrenounce everything in the world ―<\/span> what seems to us good
\nas well as what seems bad <\/span>―<\/span> for that supreme conquest. In that ascent towards the heights,
\nboth virtues and duties <\/span>―<\/span> that is to say our mental prejudices and preferences <\/span>―<\/span> stand far more in our way than our exterior weaknesses and
\nfaults. An error can always be used as a spring-board, whilst a virtue is more
\noften a limit, a barrier that must be surmounted. <\/span><\/p>\n

I will add, quoting a
\npassage of The Synthesis of Yoga<\/i>,
\n\u201cAll these are within us waiting to wall in the spirit with forms; but we must
\nalways go beyond, always renounce the lesser for the greater, the finite for
\nthe Infinite; we must be prepared to proceed from illumination to illumination,
\nfrom experience to experience, from soul-state to soul-state, so as to reach
\nthe utmost transcendence of the Divine and its utmost universality.\u201d \u00b9<\/span><\/p>\n

The way in which most
\npeople surrender: <\/span><\/p>\n

Let God manifest his
\nwill but let it be the same as mine. <\/span><\/p>\n

One thing you must know
\nand decide: <\/span><\/p>\n

It is if you want the
\nTrue Divine as He is, or if you want a Divine in keeping with your own
\nconception of what He ought to be. <\/span><\/p>\n

And if you have decided
\nto surrender sincerely and totally to the Divine and to be and do what He wants
\nyou to be and do according to His own will, or if you want the Divine to do
\nwhat you want Him to do and to act according to your own will. <\/span><\/p>\n

\nprayer to the Supreme Lord. But if you want to live in Ananda<\/span>,
\nyou must not try to impose your will on the Divine, but, on the contrary, you
\nmust be ready to accept all that comes to you from Him, with an equal peace;
\nbecause He knows better than we what is good for our progress. <\/span><\/p>\n

The time is come to rely
\nonly on the Divine will and to let it

\nwhole affair to the Divine’s will and let it do its work through you, not only
\nyour mind and feelings but mainly through the body; and if you do it sincerely,
\nall this body nonsense will disappear and you will be strong and fit for your

When men will understand
\nthat the Divine knows better than they do what is the best for them, many of
\ntheir difficulties will disappear. <\/span><\/p>\n

If the Lord wills for
\nyou a hardship, do not protest. Take it as a blessing and indeed it will become

And yet most of those
