You cannot expect
\nthe whole world to be at your service and everything to happen<\/span><\/p>\n

as you fancy it to be more convenient for you.<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

You must stop quarrelling with everybody and about everything; otherwise
\nhow can you expect to make any progress in yoga? <\/span><\/p>\n

Keep this attitude \u00ad\u00ad\u00ad− never side with anybody nor take up any
\npersonal quarrel − think only of the Divine Peace, Harmony, Light and
\nHappiness and become more and more their purified and quiet instrument. <\/span><\/p>\n

You must never forget that I disapprove of quarrels and always consider
\nthat both sides are equally wrong. To surmount one’s feelings, preferences,
\ndislikes and impulses, is an indispensable discipline here. <\/span><\/p>\n

Of course, X told me the story in a very different way − but I am
\nused to the fact that each one tells me things from a particular angle, the one

Yes, all these quarrels are a very sad thing − they interfere
\nterribly in the work and make everything more difficult. <\/span><\/p>\n

Before getting angry at the mistakes of others one should always
\nremember one’s own mistakes. <\/span><\/p>\n

You must get rid of all inner as well as all outer movements of anger,
\nimpatience and dislike. If things go wrong or are done wrongly, you will simply
\nsay, \u201cThe Mother knows\u201d and go on quietly doing or getting things done as well
\nas you can without friction.<\/span><\/p>\n

That one feels sad for one’s own faults, this may, if necessary, be
\nuseful to strengthen one’s resolution to correct them. <\/span><\/p>\n

But that one can be offended by another’s bad conduct, this has truly
\nnothing to do with the spiritual life and the service of the Divine. <\/span><\/p>\n

To be above offence or insult makes one truly great. <\/span><\/p>\n

What is to be done if a person comes to
\nquarrel because one has accepted in one case and refused in another? What is to
\nbe done to avoid such bitterness around one, provoked by repeated refusals? <\/span><\/i> <\/span><\/p>\n

As for ill-will,
\njealousy, quarrels and reproaches, one must\u00a0
\n<\/span>sincerely <\/i>be above all that
\nand reply with a benevolent smile to the bitterest words; and unless one is
\nabsolutely sure of himself and his reactions, it would be better, as a general
\nrule, to keep silent. <\/span><\/p>\n

As usual, it is only a misunderstanding, and also as usual, the ego of
\neach one, by its reaction, magnifies the thing and aggravates it. But it is easy

\noccasion for collective and individual Sadhana<\/span> and
\nthat is why I engage myself in it and take special interest in it. <\/span><\/p>\n

We do not work for the success of X’s play, or of Y’s dance, or of Z’s
\nscenario. <\/span><\/p>\n

We want to render in physical terms, as perfectly as possible, the
\ninspiration sent by the Lord for the accomplishment of His work upon earth. And
\nfor that each individual soul is a helper and a collaborator, but each human
\nego is a limitation and an obstacle. <\/span><\/p>\n

It is obviously very regrettable to allow oneself to be upset by such
\nlittle things, and if each one gave more thought to his work as the really
\nimportant thing, all these little quarrels would be seen for what they are,
\nthat is, as utterly ridiculous. <\/span><\/p>\n

I hope that everything will be settled soon and that harmony will reign
\nonce more among the bakery-workers. <\/span><\/p>\n
