The ego thinks of what
\nit wants and has not. This is its constant preoccupation. <\/span><\/p>\n

The
\nsoul is aware of what it is given and lives in endless gratitude. <\/span><\/p>\n

\nbitterness in life always comes from the ego refusing to abdicate. <\/span><\/p>\n

\nego there is no peace either for ourselves or for others. And without ego life
\nbecomes such a wonderful marvel!… <\/span><\/p>\n

We can contemplate the

Without
\nthe play of ego, there would be no conflicts; and if there were not in the
\nvital a tendency to drama, there would be no dramatic happenings in life. <\/span><\/p>\n

Yes,
\nthose who live in their ego live constantly in an ugly drama. If people were a
\nlittle less selfish things would not be so bad. <\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile we must meet

Vanity: one of the most

Vanity is the most
\nserious obstacle to true greatness. <\/span><\/p>\n

There was a time when
\nyour amour-propre <\/i>was a great help.
\nIt saved you from doing many stupid things by telling you that <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

We should always be on our guard against the interference of the
\nego, shouldn’t we, Mother? <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Certainly this is correct. Ambition is
\nalways a source of disturbance and confusion. <\/span><\/p>\n

Detaching oneself from the ignorant actions of the mind and vital
\nand from any kind of ambition, and allowing the Divine Mother to work according
\nto Her own will, one can have inner as well as outer peace and happiness; and
\nthis, I think, is the way one can serve the Mother gratefully and sincerely. Is
\nthis not so? <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

Certainly, action without ambition and
\negoistic calculation is the condition of peace and felicity <\/span>―<\/span> both inner and outer. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

Behind all ambitions
\nthere is a Truth waiting for the opportune time to manifest. Now that the
\nambition is gone, it is time for the truth (the capacities and abilities) to
\nmanifest. <\/span><\/p>\n

Take great care not to
\nbecome \u201cswollen\u201d; but I am with you, helping you, in order to do something
\ninteresting. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

A part of my being has developed the bad habit of feeling

\npeople. Don’t you think I should have the strength to reject this obstacle? <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\nthen you must do it in all sincerity and not accept these movements of jealousy
\nin any way. <\/span><\/p>\n

I do not understand why my vital is always jealous of X.

There is never any reason for jealousy. It

Jealousy comes from a
\nnarrowness of the mind and a weakness of the heart. It is a great pity that so

It deserves more pity than anger, and must
