\nHow should we teach French to the young children?
\n<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\nThe best thing would be to tell them a story, using very simple
\nwords and phrases so that they can understand (a little story, short and
\ninteresting or amusing), and then afterwards ask them to write down in class
\nwhat they have heard.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

\nYes, but the children are very noisy.
\n<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\nA minimum of silence is necessary. I know that the most
\nundisciplined children are usually the most intelligent. But to be tamed they
\nmust feel the pressure of an intelligence that is more powerful than their own.
\nAnd for that, one must be able not to come down to their level, and above all
\nknow how to remain unaffected by what they do. In fact, it is a yogic problem.

\nof our hearts, whatever the outer results may be. Only let the children grow
\nand flower in Your Peace and Love and let us all live together for You.

\nThe relationship that has really been established between the
\nclass, you, the children and me, is certainly the most important thing and it
\nmust be preserved at all costs. But that depends on an inner<\/i> attitude<\/i><\/span> much more than on an
\nouter framework or material organisation. In fact, this same attitude<\/i>
\nshould be present throughout the whole school and all the classes, in all the
\nteachers and all the students. This is what must be obtained and what we must
\nstrive for.

\nAn experiment should be flexible and plastic enough to be
\napplicable and adapted to all the children, with any changes in detail that
\ntheir different characters may require. So you may rest assured that the
\nexperiment will continue. Only the children may not be the same ones.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

\n(The teacher had organised work-groups with the children. The
\nresults were uneven and the class was noisy. The teacher asked whether they
\nshould continue.}

\nLet them continue with the experiment. Little by little things
\nwill settle down and the results will improve.  <\/span><\/p>\n
