A home of beauty must be given for Beauty to<br \/>\nstay. I am not speaking of external things \u2013 a real house, real furniture and<br \/>\nall that \u2013 I am speaking of an inner attitude, of something within which is<br \/>\nbeautiful, noble, harmonious, unselfish. There Love has a chance to come and<br \/>\nstay. But when, as soon as it tries to manifest, it is immediately mixed with<br \/>\nsuch low and ugly things, it does not remain, it goes away. This is what Sri<br \/>\nAurobindo says: it is \u201creluctant to be born\u201d \u2013 it could be said that it<br \/>\nimmediately regrets being born. Men always complain that love does not stay<br \/>\nwith them but it is entirely their fault. They give this love such a sordid<br \/>\nlife, mixed with a heap of horrors and such vulgarity, things so base, so<br \/>\nselfish, so dirty, that the poor thing cannot stay. If they don&#8217;t succeed in<br \/>\nkilling it altogether, they make it utterly sick. So the only thing it can do<br \/>\nis to take flight. People always complain that love is impermanent and passing.<br \/>\nTo tell the truth, they should be very grateful that it manifested in them in<br \/>\nspite of the sordidness of the house they gave it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><span lang=\"EN-US\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin: 0\"><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u201c<span class=\"SpellE\">Mahasaraswati<\/span> is the<br \/>\nMother&#8217;s Power of Work and <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:center;line-height:150%'><span lang=\"EN-US\">&nbsp;<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\" style='font-style:normal'><font size=\"3\">Page &#8211; 403<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"que\" align=\"center\" style='margin-left:0in;text-align:center'><span lang=\"EN-US\"><\/p>\n<hr size=\"2\" width=\"100%\" align=\"center\">\n<p><\/span><\/div>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin: 0\"><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">her spirit of perfection and order. And in her special nature, in the quality of<br \/>\nher vibration, she is very close to&#8230; even a little child. She likes young<br \/>\npeople, children, things in the making, which have a long way before them to be<br \/>\ntransformed and perfected. She likes the activities of the young. She is the<br \/>\nyoungest in nature and the last to manifest. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><span lang=\"EN-US\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin: 0\"><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">Sri Aurobindo speaks of a \u201cconscious hand\u201d; what<br \/>\ndoes that mean ? <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><span lang=\"EN-US\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><span lang=\"EN-US\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>What ! I have told<br \/>\nyou this I don&#8217;t know how many times, I have explained it hundreds of times and<br \/>\nyou still ask this question ? I have told you that no matter what you want to<br \/>\ndo, the first thing is to put consciousness in the cells of your hand. If you<br \/>\nwant to play, if you want to work, if you want to do anything at all with your<br \/>\nhand, unless you push consciousness into the cells of your hand you will never<br \/>\ndo anything good \u2013 how many times have I told you that ? And this is felt. You<br \/>\nfeel it. You can acquire it. It is not a question of<br \/>\nreal money, you know! An extremely rich man may be terribly poor from <span class=\"SpellE\">Mahalakshmi&#8217;s<\/span> point of view. And a very poor man may be<br \/>\nvery rich if his heart is generous. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><span lang=\"EN-US\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin: 0\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">When we say \u201ca poor man- un <span class=\"SpellE\">homme<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"SpellE\">pauvre<\/span>\u201d, what is the exact meaning of \u201cpoor man\u201d? <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><span lang=\"EN-US\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><span lang=\"EN-US\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>A poor man is a<br \/>\nman having no qualities, no force, no strength, no generosity. He is also a<br \/>\nmiserable, unhappy man. Moreover, one is unhappy only when one is not generous-<br \/>\nif one has a generous nature which gives of itself without reckoning, one is<br \/>\nnever unhappy. It is those who are doubled up on themselves and who always want<br \/>\nto draw things towards themselves, who see things and the world only through<br \/>\nthemselves- it is these who are unhappy. But when one gives oneself generously,<br \/>\nwithout reckoning, one is never unhappy, never.
