It<br \/>\nis very subtle; the brain receives the eye&#8217;s perceptions through the nerves;<br \/>\nthere is no reasoning, it is so to say instantaneous, but there is a short<br \/>\npassage between the eye&#8217;s perception and the cell which is to respond and<br \/>\nevaluate it in the brain. And it is this evaluation of the brain which is under<br \/>\nthe influence of feelings. It is the small vibration between what the eye sees<br \/>\nand what the brain estimates which often falsifies the response. And it is not<br \/>\na question of good faith, for even the most sincere persons do not know what is<br \/>\nhappening, even very calm people, without any violent emotion, who do not even<br \/>\nfeel an emotion, are influenced in this way without being aware of the<br \/>\nintervention of this little falsifying vibration. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;text-indent:.25in;line-height:150%'><span lang=\"EN-US\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><span>\u00a0<\/span>At times moral notions also intermix and<br \/>\nfalsify the judgment but we must throw far away from us all moral notions; for<br \/>\nmorality and Truth are very far from each other (if I am shocking anybody by<br \/>\nsaying this, I am sorry, but it is like that). It is only when you have<br \/>\nconquered all attraction and all <span class=\"GramE\">repulsion<\/span> that you<br \/>\ncan have a correct judgment. As long as there are things that attract you and<br \/>\nthings that repel you, it is not possible for you to have an absolutely sure<br \/>\nfunctioning of the senses.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;text-indent:-7.5pt;line-height:150%'><span lang=\"EN-US\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>Everybody knows, for example, that<br \/>\nwhen there is an accident, there may be two, three or ten witnesses, but they<br \/>\ndo not see the same thing at all; one thing happens but there are no two<br \/>\npersons who see it in the same way. With the inner shock,<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" align=\"center\" style='margin:0;text-align:center;text-indent:-7.5pt;line-height:150%'>\n<span lang=\"EN-US\" style='font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>Page &#8211; 11<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" align=\"center\" style='text-align:center;text-indent:-7.5pt'><span lang=\"EN-US\"><\/p>\n<hr size=\"2\" width=\"100%\" align=\"center\">\n<p><\/span><\/div>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><span class=\"GramE\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>they<\/span><\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'> perceive only a<br \/>\nvery small part of what happens.<span>\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;text-indent:.25in;line-height:150%'><span lang=\"EN-US\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>But there is a way<br \/>\nof reconciling the impressions \u2013 the idea and the opposite idea \u2013 is by<br \/>\nconsidering them as two ends of one and the same line; then by putting between<br \/>\nthese two ends innumerable other ideas which follow each other, you come to<br \/>\nfind that there is an accord among them. You also find out that this is a very<br \/>\ninteresting exercise. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><span lang=\"EN-US\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><i><span lang=\"EN-US\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>\u201cHe alone who is above likes and dislikes,<br \/>\ndesires and preferences can look at things with perfect impartiality, through<br \/>\nsenses that are in their functioning objective, like that of an extremely<br \/>\ndelicate and perfected machine, to which is added the clarity of a living consciousness.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" align=\"right\" style='margin:0;text-align:right;line-height:150%'><i><span lang=\"EN-US\" style='font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><font size=\"2\">\u201cCorrect Judgment\u201d, On Education<br \/>\n<\/font> <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><i><span lang=\"EN-US\" style='font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><span lang=\"EN-US\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>I say \u201cobjective<br \/>\nperception\u201d. To see objectively is to see and judge without adding anything<br \/>\nfrom oneself, free from all personal reaction. One must learn to see a thing<br \/>\nwithout mixing up in it any personal feelings. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;text-indent:.25in;line-height:150%'><span lang=\"EN-US\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><span>\u00a0<\/span>And I add that this \u201cperfected machine\u201d can do<br \/>\nnothing without the clarity of a living consciousness. When the consciousness<br \/>\nis <i>one<\/i>, you can know by identity;<br \/>\nthat is, by uniting your consciousness with the object or the person you want<br \/>\nto know or judge impartially, you enter into an inner contact with this object<br \/>\nor person, and then it is possible for you to know with absolute certainty&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;text-indent:.25in;line-height:150%'><span lang=\"EN-US\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><span>\u00a0<\/span>Also what deforms and falsifies is the anxiety<br \/>\nfor the consequences. To have an absolutely true judgment, you must know how to<br \/>\nexecute and act without desire \u2013 only one in a thousand can do that. Almost all<br \/>\nare anxious about the result or have the ambition to obtain a result. You must<br \/>\nnot be anxious about the results; simply do a thing because you have seen that<br \/>\nit is that which must be done: tell yourself, \u201cI am doing this because this is<br \/>\nthe thing to be done, and whatever may happen&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" align=\"center\" style='margin:0;text-align:center;line-height:150%'>\n<span lang=\"EN-US\" style='font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>Page &#8211; 12<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" align=\"center\" style='text-align:center'><span lang=\"EN-US\" style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:\"Courier New\";color:blue'><\/p>\n<hr size=\"2\" width=\"100%\" align=\"center\">\n<p><\/span><\/div>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><span lang=\"EN-US\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><span>\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"GramE\">afterwards<\/span> is not my<br \/>\nconcern.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;text-indent:.25in;line-height:150%'><span lang=\"EN-US\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><span>\u00a0<\/span>That evidently is an ideal and until it is reached<br \/>\nthe action will always be mixed.
