\t\t\tteachers and sadhaks of the Ashram in her "Wednesday Classes"<\/p>\n

\t\t\tof 1954. The classes generally began with a reading from one of<\/p>\n

\t\t\ther writings or her French translations of Sri Aurobindo’s works.<\/p>\n

\t\t\tShe then commented or answered questions on the texts or on<\/p>\n

\t\t\tother subjects. The talks from January 2 to April 14 are based<\/p>\n

\t\t\tupon her essays on education and self-development (now published<\/p>\n

\t\t\tin <\/font>On Education, <\/i>
\n\t\t\t<\/font>Volume Twelve of the
\n\t\t\tCollected Works), the<\/p>\n

\t\t\tothers upon Sri Aurobindo’s <\/font>
\n\t\t\tElements of Yoga, The
\n\t\t\tMother <\/i><\/font>and
\n\t\t\t<\/font><\/p>\n

\t\t\tThe talks, given in French, were tape-recorded. Tests and<\/p>\n

\t\t\ttranslations of the talks of January 2 to September 15 were first<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tInternational<\/p>\n

\t\t\tCentre of Education <\/i><\/font>
\n\t\t\tfrom April 1973 to August
\n\t\t\t1978; the translations<\/p>\n

\t\t\thave been slightly revised for this volume. The rest of the<\/p>\n

\t\t\ttalks are published here for the first time.<\/p>\n
