Then the spiritual life<br \/>\nbegins, not before. The true spiritual life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;text-indent:.25in;line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;When one is united with<br \/>\none\u2019s psychic being and conscious of the divine Presence, and receives the<br \/>\nimpulses for one\u2019s action from this divine Presence, and when the will has<br \/>\nbecome a conscious collaborator with the divine Will that is the<br \/>\nstarting-point. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;text-indent:.25in;line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;Before that, one may be<br \/>\nan aspirant to the spiritual life, but one doesn\u2019t have a spiritual life. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><i>Sweet Mother, I would like to<br \/>\nhave the explanation of a sentence. Sri Aurobindo has said somewhere,<br \/>\n\u201cMaterially you are nothing, spiritually you are everything.\u201d<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>That means that it is the Spirit, the spiritual consciousness<br \/>\nand the divine Presence which give to life all its value, that without this<br \/>\nspiritual consciousness and divine Presence life has no value. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;text-indent:.25in;line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;The same holds true for<br \/>\nthe individual, whatever his material capacities and the material conditions in<br \/>\nwhich he lives, his only worth is that of the divine Presence and the spiritual<br \/>\nconsciousness in him. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;text-indent:.25in;line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;And so from the point of<br \/>\nview of the truth of things, a man who has no material possessions and no<br \/>\nremarkable capacities or possibilities, but who is conscious of his psychic<br \/>\nbeing and united with the Divine in him, is infinitely greater than a ruler<br \/>\nupon earth or a millionaire who possesses considerable material power but is<br \/>\nunconscious of his psychic being.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" align=\"center\" style='margin:0;text-align:center;text-indent:.25in;line-height:150%'>\n<span style='font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>Page &#8211; 136<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" align=\"center\" style='text-align:center'><span style='font-size:10.0pt;color:blue'><\/p>\n<hr size=\"2\" width=\"100%\" align=\"center\">\n<p><\/span><\/div>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;text-indent:.25in;line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>From the point of view of the<br \/>\ntruth, it is like that. This is what Sri Aurobindo means: no apparent and outer<br \/>\nthings have any true value. The only thing which is valuable is the divine<br \/>\nconsciousness and union with the Spirit. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><i><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>Mother, according to what you<br \/>\nsaid last time, there is still the question of those who are not consciously<br \/>\nopen to the new Force. Then how will they be influenced? But if one doesn\u2019t want to be helped\u2026 Or rather, I could say there are<br \/>\npeople who are sure they don\u2019t need to be helped, they feel that they can help<br \/>\nthemselves quite well, that they need no help, that it is they who do the work,<br \/>\nthey who make the progress, they who do everything. So they don\u2019t want help,<br \/>\nthey feel no need for it.
