Or even if he sees both aspects, it<br \/>\nmay be with an unequal separating vision, subordinating one to the other,<br \/>\nregarding the Shakti only as a means for approaching the Ishwara. There results<br \/>\na one-sided tendency or a lack of balance, a power of effectuation not<br \/>\nperfectly supported or a light of revelation not perfectly dynamic. It is when<br \/>\na complete union of the two sides of the Duality is effected and rules his<br \/>\nconsciousness that he begins to open to a fuller power that will draw him altogether<br \/>\nout of the confused clash of Ideas and Forces here into a higher Truth and<br \/>\nenable the descent of that Truth to illumine and deliver and act sovereignly<br \/>\nupon this world of Ignorance.\u201d <\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" align=\"right\" style='margin:0;text-align:right;line-height:150%'>\n<span><i><span style='font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><br \/>\n<font size=\"2\">The<br \/>\nSynthesis of Yoga, p. 117<\/font><\/span><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><b><i><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>Yes, if he sees the two aspects <\/span><span lang=\"EL\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&#8213; <\/span><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>that is to say, the Master of<br \/>\nExistence and the World-Mother <\/span><span lang=\"EL\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&#8213;<\/span><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'> he may see them with an unequal vision, which would mean that<br \/>\nhe still separates them and gives more importance to one than to the other. And<br \/>\nin that case there is a one-sided tendency; he sees only one side or there is a<br \/>\nlack of balance between the two perceptions. And so the power of effectuation<br \/>\nis not perfectly supported, that is to say, the action of the Mother does not<br \/>\nhave the support of what he&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" align=\"center\" style='margin:0;text-align:center;line-height:150%'>\n<span style='font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>Page &#8211; 113<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" align=\"center\" style='text-align:center'><span style='font-size:10.0pt;color:blue'><\/p>\n<hr size=\"2\" width=\"100%\" align=\"center\">\n<p><\/span><\/div>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>calls the Master, the action of the Mother does not have a<br \/>\nsufficient basis of support from the Master; or else it is the light of a<br \/>\nrevelation <\/span><span lang=\"EL\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&#8213;<\/span><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'> that is, the Consciousness of the Master which is not realised,<br \/>\nnot perfectly dynamic, that is, it is not translated into a creation. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;text-indent:.25in;line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;Either the creative Power<br \/>\nis not supported by the revelation, or the revelation is not expressed in the<br \/>\ncreative Power. This is what Sri Aurobindo means. There is a tendency to go<br \/>\ntowards one or the other, instead of having both at the same time, if one no longer<br \/>\nseparates them in one\u2019s consciousness. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;text-indent:.25in;line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;Sri Aurobindo says that<br \/>\nwhen one succeeds in not separating them in one\u2019s consciousness, one can fully<br \/>\nunderstand who the Lord of the Sacrifice is. Otherwise one leans to one side or<br \/>\nthe other and naturally what one does is in complete. He says very clearly,<br \/>\ndoesn\u2019t he? that if one leans to the side of the Master without laying stress<br \/>\non the Shakti or the Mother, one goes into the Impersonal and out of the<br \/>\ncreation, one returns into Nirvana. He says that this tendency towards the<br \/>\nImpersonal may exist even in the yoga of works, in Karmayoga, and that<br \/>\nimpersonal force, impersonal action is always considered as the liberating<br \/>\naspect which frees you from the narrowness of the person. And that is why there<br \/>\nis nothing surprising in the overwhelming strength of this experience. Till<br \/>\ntoday this is what has always been considered as yoga: to abandon the personal<br \/>\nand enter into the consciousness of the impersonal. Sri Aurobindo speaks of it<br \/>\nas an overwhelming experience, for it gives you the impression of liberation<br \/>\nfrom all the ego\u2019s limitations. And later, he describes the union: insistence<br \/>\non the personal side and union with the divine Person; then the world is no<br \/>\nlonger an illusion nor something transient which will disappear after a time,<br \/>\nbut the constant and dynamic expression of the eternal divine Person. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;text-indent:.25in;line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;That is the other side. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;text-indent:.25in;line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;And when one has the two<br \/>\ntogether, one is perfect. aim and a hint of the<br \/>\nvery<span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>motive of the universal labour\u201d?<br \/>\n<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" align=\"right\" style='margin:0;text-align:right;line-height:150%'>\n<span><i><span style='font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><br \/>\n<font size=\"2\">The<br \/>\nSynthesis of Yoga, p. 118-l9<\/font><\/span><\/i><\/span><b><i><span style='font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><font size=\"2\">&nbsp;<\/font>&nbsp;<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>It is the soul which he calls this fine flower of the cosmic<br \/>\nEnergy. brief-lived stranger in<br \/>\nan impersonal Eternity, but contains the very meaning of existence.\u201d <\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;text-indent:.25in;line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;It is a hint of the aim. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;text-indent:.25in;line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>And the very motive of the<br \/>\nlabour. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><i><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>Immediately afterwards, Sri<br \/>\nAurobindo writes: \u201cAs an occult vision opens in him [the seeker], he becomes<br \/>\naware of worlds behind in which consciousness and personality hold an enormous<br \/>\nplace and assume a premier value.\u201d Do you know how<br \/>\nto do all that? Have you ever done it? And if you know how to tell<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" align=\"center\" style='margin:0;text-align:center;text-indent:.25in;line-height:150%'>\n<span style='font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>Page &#8211; 118<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" align=\"center\" style='text-align:center'><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:\"Courier New\";color:blue'><\/p>\n<hr size=\"2\" width=\"100%\" align=\"center\">\n<p><\/span><\/div>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>yourself a story in this way, and if it is truly beautiful,<br \/>\ntruly harmonious, truly powerful and well co-ordinated, this story will be<br \/>\nrealised in your life <\/span><span lang=\"EL\" style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&#8213; <\/span><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>perhaps not exactly in the form in which you created it, but as a<br \/>\nmore or less changed physical expression of what you made. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;text-indent:.25in;line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;That may take years,<br \/>\nperhaps, but your story will tend to organise your life. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;text-indent:.25in;line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;But there are very few<br \/>\npeople who know how to tell a beautiful story; and then they always mix horrors<br \/>\nin it, which they regret later. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;text-indent:.25in;line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;If one could create a<br \/>\nmagnificent story without any horror in it, nothing but beauty, it would have<br \/>\na<span>\u00a0 <\/span><br \/>\n<span><i>considerable<\/i><\/span> influence on everyone\u2019s<br \/>\nlife. And this is what people don\u2019t know. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style='margin:0;text-align:justify;text-indent:.25in;line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>&nbsp;If one knew how to use<br \/>\nthis power, this creative power in the world of vital forms, if one knew how to<br \/>\nuse this while yet a child, a very small child\u2026 for it is then that one<br \/>\nfashions his material destiny.
