\n\tBrihuspathy1<\/sup> his
\n\tpath of vantage shows,<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\t        The red disastrous thunder
\n\tleaves his hand <\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tObedient, the high Gods in
\n\tburning rows <\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tHis battled armies make, high
\n\theaven\u2019s his fort, <\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tIravath swings his huge trunk
\n\tfor his sport,<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\t        The Almighty\u2019s guardian favours
\n\tover him stand;<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tThat Indra with these strengths,
\n\tthis lordship proud <\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tIs broken by his foes in battle
\n\tloud. <\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tCome then, bow down to Fate.
\n\tAlas, the vain <\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tHeroisms, virtues, toils of
\n\tglorious man!<\/span> \n\t<\/p>\n

\n\tA Parable of Fate<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

\n\t <\/p>\n

\n\tA serpent in a basket crushed
\n\tdespaired,<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\t        His organs all with hunger weak
\n\tand worn, <\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tWhile patiently at night the
\n\tmouse prepared<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\t        A hole in that self basket. Ere
\n\tthe morn <\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tBy his own industry, such
\n\tNature\u2019s law, <\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tThe patient labourer fills the
\n\tserpent\u2019s maw. <\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tHe with that food replenished,
\n\tby the way<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\t         The mouse had made escaped. 0
\n\tworld, behold <\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tThe mighty master of thy sad
\n\tdecay<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\t         And fortunate rising. Fate, the
\n\tgodhead old.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tIntellect follows where these

\n\tThink ere thou act, thou who
\n\twouldst reach the goal.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tA bald man, goes the story, when the noon <\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tBeat his plagued brows into a fiery swoon, <\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tBy subtle Fate into a high palm\u2019s shade. <\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tThere where he shelter hoped, a giant fruit <\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tCrashed on his pate and broke with horrid bruit. <\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tWherever the unfortunate hides his head, <\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tGrief and disaster in his footprints tread.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tFate Masters All<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

\n\tI saw the brilliant moon
\n\teclipsed, the sun<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\t       Baulked darkly of his radiant
\n\tpilgrimage, <\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tAnd halter-bound the forest\u2019s
\n\tmighty one, <\/span><\/p>\n

\n\t       The iron-coiled huge python in a
\n\tcage;<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tThen saw the wise skilled brain
\n\ta pauper, and said <\/span><\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cFate only is strong whose hand

\n\tAnd Earth with him adorned grows
\n\tmeasureless. <\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tThen if death early spoil that
\n\tnoble plan, <\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tAh, blind stupidity of Fate that
\n\tthrows <\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tFrom her brow the jewel, from

\n\tThe Script of Fate<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\n\tWhen on the desert-bramble\u2019s
\n\tboughs you find<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\t        Leafage nor flower, blame not
\n\tthe bounteous Spring! <\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tIs it the sun\u2019s fault if the
\n\towlet blind<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\t        Sees not by day so
\n\tradiant-bright a thing? <\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tThough down the rain-lark\u2019s
\n\tthroat no sweet drops flow,<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\t        Yet for his falling showers the
\n\thigh cloud praise. <\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tWhat Fate has written in power
\n\tupon the brow,<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\t        Where is the hand so mighty it
