\nNammalwar’s Hymn of the Golden Age<\/font><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

\n <\/span><\/p>\n

1.\u00a0
\n‘<\/span>Tis glory, glory, glory! For
\nLife’s hard curse has expired; swept out are Pain and Hell, and Death has
\nnought to do here. Mark ye, the Iron Age shall end. For we have seen the hosts
\nof Vishnu; richly do they enter in and chant His praise and dance and thrive.<\/span>
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

2. \u00a0 <\/span>We have seen, we have
\nseen, we have seen \u2014 seen things full sweet for our eyes. Come, all ye lovers
\nof God, let us shout and dance for joy with oft-made surrenderings. Vide do
\nthey roam on earth singing songs and dancing, the hosts of Krishna who wears
\nthe cool and beautiful Tulsi, the desire of the <\/b>Bees.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/p>\n

3. \u00a0 <\/span>The Iron Age shall change.
\nIt shall fade, it shall pass away. The gods shall be in our midst. The mighty
\nGolden Age shall hold the earth and the flood of the highest Bliss shall swell.
\nFor the hosts of our dark-hued Lord, dark-hued like the cloud, dark-hued like
\nthe sea, widely they enter in, singing songs, and everywhere they have seized
\non their stations.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

4.\u00a0 <\/span>The hosts of our Lord who reclines on the sea of Vastness, behold
\nthem thronging hither. Me seems they will tear up all these weeds of grasping
\ncults. And varied songs do they sing, our Lord’s own hosts, as they dance
\nfalling, sitting, standing, marching, leaping, bending.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

5. \u00a0 <\/span>And many are the wondrous
\nsights that strike mine eyes. As by magic have Vishnu’s hosts come in and
\nfirmly placed themselves everywhere. Nor doubt it, ye fiends and demons, if,
\nborn such be in our midst, take heed! ye shall never escape. For the Spirit of
\nTime will slay and fling you away.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

6.\u00a0 <\/span>These hosts of the Lord of the Discus, they are here to free this
\nearth<\/span><\/p>\n

of the devourers of Life, Disease and Hunger and vengeful Hate and
\nall other things of evil. And sweet are their songs as they leap and dance
\nex-tending wide over earth. <\/b>Go forth, ye
\nlovers of God and meet these hosts divine; with right minds serve them and
\nlive.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

7. \u00a0 <\/span>The Gods that ye fix in
\nyour minds, in His name do they grant you deliverance. Even thus to immortality
\ndid the sage Marganda attain. I mean no offence to any, but there is no other
\nGod but Krishna. And let<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

all your sacrifices be to them who are but His forms.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

8. \u00a0 <\/span>His forms he has placed as
\nGods to receive and taste the offerings that are brought in sacrifices in all
\nthe various worlds- He our divine Sovereign on whose mole-marked bosom the
\ngoddess LaKshmi rests \u2014His hosts are singing sweetly and deign to increase on
\nearth. 0 men, ap-proach them, serve and live.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

9. \u00a0 <\/span>Go forth and live by
\nserving our Lord, the deathless One. With your tongues chant ye the hymns, the
\nsacred Riks of the Veda, nor err in the laws of wisdom. Oh, rich has become
\nthis earth in the blessed ones and the faithful who serve them with flowers and
\nincense and sandal and water.<\/span>
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

10. In all these
\nrising worlds they have thronged and wide they spread, those beauteous forms of
\nKrishna \u2014 the unclad Rudra, is there, Incfra, Brahma, all. The Iron Age shall
\ncease to be \u2014 do ye but unite and serve these.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n
