 <\/span><\/p>\n

Who is this with
\n\t\tsmeared limbs<\/span><\/p>\n

      Of sandal
\n\t\twreathed with forest blossom. <\/span><\/p>\n

For a beauty in
\n\t\thim gleams<\/span><\/p>\n

      Earth
\n\t\tbears not on her mortal bosom.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

He his hair with
\n\t\tbloom has crowned,<\/span><\/p>\n

      And many
\n\t\tbees come murmuring, swarming. <\/span><\/p>\n

Who is he that
\n\t\twith sweet sound<\/span><\/p>\n

      Arrests
\n\t\tour feet, our hearts alarming?<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

Daily came I to
\n\t\tthe river,<\/span><\/p>\n

      Daily
\n\t\tpassed these boughs of blessing, <\/span><\/p>\n

But beneath
\n\t\ttheir shadow never<\/span><\/p>\n

      Saw such
\n\t\tbeauty heart-caressing.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

Like a cloud yet
\n\t\tmoist with rain<\/span><\/p>\n

      His hue
\n\t\tis, robe of masquerader. <\/span><\/p>\n

Ah, a girl\u2019s
\n\t\tsoul out to win<\/span><\/p>\n

      Outposts
\n\t\there what amorous raider?<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

Ankle over ankle
\n\t\tlays<\/span><\/p>\n

      And
\n\t\tmoonbeams from his feet make glamour;<\/span><\/p>\n

When he moves,
\n\t\tat every pace<\/span><\/p>\n

      His body\u2019s
\n\t\tsweets Love\u2019s self enamour.<\/span><\/p>\n

A strange wish
\n\t\tusurps my mind;<\/span><\/p>\n

      My youth,
\n\t\tmy beauty, ah, life even <\/span><\/p>\n

At his feet if I
\n\t\tresigned<\/span><\/p>\n

      Were not
\n\t\tthat rich surrender heaven ? <\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tstrange, sweet thing I watch today, <\/span><\/p>\n

Fixed lightning
\n\tin the water\u2019s quiet dreaming?<\/span><\/p>\n

Disturb a single
\n\twave here, even one!<\/span><\/p>\n

Great is her sin
\n\twho blots the vision gleaming.<\/span><\/p>\n

What glimmers in

Thus shimmering
\n\twith the water\u2019s shimmering<\/span><\/p>\n

      And
\n\tswaying as it sways?<\/span><\/p>\n

Is it a lotus
\n\tdarkly blooming<\/span><\/p>\n

      In
\n\tJamouna\u2019s clear stream? <\/span><\/p>\n

What else the
\n\tdepths opaque illuming<\/span><\/p>\n

      Could with
\n\tsuch beauty claim?<\/span><\/p>\n

Is it his shadow
\n\twhom dark-burning<\/span><\/p>\n

      In sudden
\n\tbloom we see <\/span><\/p>\n

When with our
\n\tbrimming jars returning<\/span><\/p>\n

      We pass
\n\tthe Tamal-tree ?<\/span><\/p>\n

Is there in
\n\tupper heavens or under<\/span><\/p>\n

      A moon
\n\tthat\u2019s dark of hue? <\/span><\/p>\n

By daylight does
\n\tthat moon of wonder<\/span><\/p>\n

      Its mystic
\n\tdawn renew?<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tthe eyes all hearts that ravish,<\/span><\/p>\n

      For who is
\n\tthere beside him? <\/span><\/p>\n

0 honey grace of
\n\tamorous sweetness lavish!<\/span><\/p>\n

I know him by
\n\this dark compelling beauty,<\/span><\/p>\n

      Once only
\n\thaving spied him <\/span><\/p>\n

For him I
\n\tstained my honour, scorned my duty.<\/span><\/p>\n

I know him by
\n\this feet of moonbeam brightness,<\/span><\/p>\n

      Because
\n\tfor their sake purely <\/span><\/p>\n

I live and move,

\n\tthou lovest truth nor kindness keeps;<\/span><\/p>\n

His tryst thou
\n\tservest, disappointed, grieving, \u2014<\/span><\/p>\n

      He on
\n\tanother\u2019s lovelier bosom sleeps.<\/span><\/p>\n

With Chundra\u2019s
\n\tsweets he honeys out the hours.<\/span><\/p>\n

      If thou
\n\tbelieve not, come and thou wilt find him <\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tear with ominous noise? <\/span><\/p>\n

Who brought this
\n\tchariot to tread under <\/span><\/p>\n

      Gocool,
\n\tour Paradise? <\/span><\/p>\n

Watching the
\n\twheels our hearts are rent asunder.<\/span><\/p>\n

Alas! and why is
\n\tCrishna standing<\/span><\/p>\n

      With
\n\tOcroor in the moving car? <\/span><\/p>\n

To Mothura is he
\n\tthen wending,<\/span><\/p>\n


\n\t                  To Mothura afar, <\/span><\/p>\n

The anguish in
\n\tour eyes not understanding.<\/span><\/p>\n

What fault, what
\n\tfault in Radha finding <\/span><\/p>\n

      Hast thou
\n\tforsaken her who loved thee;<\/span><\/p>\n

Her tears upon

\n\t                  Once surely they had moved thee! <\/span><\/p>\n
