Some are worldly-wise, others show how highly Truth was valued,<br \/>\nothers again for tenderness and the spirit of forgiveness would compare<br \/>\nfavourably with the wise sayings of any language in the world. As specimens we<br \/>\ntranslate a few at random:-<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Men full of guile and guileless people, good and bad men, may<br \/>\nall become friends; therefore, friendship is no measure of equality.<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-indent: 0;margin: 0\" align=\"justify\"><font size=\"3\" face=\"Times New Roman\"><br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Desire is endless; contentment is the best happiness.<br \/>\n<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-indent: 0;margin: 0\" align=\"justify\"><font size=\"3\" face=\"Times New Roman\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Death is to me less fearful than the Untruth.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The four Vedas carefully studied are equal to a single Truth.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The earth and the sky are full of life; there is no space in which living<br \/>\ncreatures are not.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The control of the senses is a wholesome fast.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Ignorant people mistake anger for strength; he who keeps<br \/>\nhimself free from all anger is, of a truth, strong.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; If spent ceaselessly even the Himalayas would be exhausted.&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-indent: 0;margin: 0\" align=\"justify\"><font size=\"3\" face=\"Times New Roman\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br \/>\nDoubt is the source of all mischief; all work undertaken without any hesitation<br \/>\nor doubt is crowned with success.&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-indent: 0;margin: 0\" align=\"justify\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-indent: 0;margin: 0\" align=\"justify\"><font size=\"3\" face=\"Times New Roman\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br \/>\nIf a man kill another by whom he has been deceived and goes<br \/>\nto hell for his sin, even hell is to him as welcome as heaven.&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-indent: 0;margin: 0\" align=\"justify\"><font size=\"3\" face=\"Times New Roman\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br \/>\nGather wisdom from the ravings of the insane and the babble of<br \/>\nchildren even as gold is gathered from rocky ore.<br \/>\n<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-indent: 0;margin: 0\" align=\"justify\"><font size=\"3\" face=\"Times New Roman\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br \/>\nHe who is aware of his own faults and is ashamed of them is<br \/>\nqualified to be the teacher of the world.<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-indent: 0;margin: 0\" align=\"justify\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-indent: 0;margin: 0\" align=\"justify\"><font size=\"3\" face=\"Times New Roman\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br \/>\nAs age deprives woman of her beauty so the absence of<br \/>\nhumility deprives man of his attractiveness.<br \/>\n<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-indent: 0;margin: 0\" align=\"center\">\n<font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"2\">Page-143<\/font><\/p>\n<hr>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-indent: 0;margin: 0\" align=\"justify\"><span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/span><font size=\"3\" face=\"Times New Roman\">If<br \/>\none man were to possess all the grain, all the gold, all the<br \/>\ncattle and all the women in the world yet he would not be content.<br \/>\n<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-indent: 0;margin: 0\" align=\"justify\"><font size=\"3\" face=\"Times New Roman\"><br \/>\n<span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/span>Error is death and<br \/>\nfreedom from error is life.<br \/>\n<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-indent: 0;margin: 0\" align=\"justify\"><font size=\"3\" face=\"Times New Roman\"><br \/>\n<span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/span>As dogs fight over<br \/>\nmeat so kings fight for the possession of<br \/>\nthe world.&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-indent: 0;margin: 0\" align=\"justify\"><font size=\"3\" face=\"Times New Roman\"><span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/span>The wise mourn neither the living nor the dead.<\/p>\n<p><span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/span>So long as a<br \/>\nman&#8217;s good deeds are remembered on earth, so<br \/>\nlong is he esteemed in heaven.<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-indent: 0;margin: 0\" align=\"justify\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-indent: 0;margin: 0\" align=\"justify\"><font size=\"3\" face=\"Times New Roman\"><span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/span>Each separate burning brand emits smoke, but when put<br \/>\ntogether they burst into a blaze.<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-indent: 0;margin: 0\" align=\"justify\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-indent: 0;margin: 0\" align=\"justify\"><font size=\"3\" face=\"Times New Roman\"><span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/span>Anger towards children, the old, and the suffering should be<br \/>\ncontrolled.&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-indent: 0;margin: 0\" align=\"justify\"><font size=\"3\" face=\"Times New Roman\"><span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/span>If one who is the lord of wealth happen to be the stave of his<br \/>\nsenses he and his wealth soon part company.<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-indent: 0;margin: 0\" align=\"justify\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-indent: 0;margin: 0\" align=\"justify\"><font size=\"3\" face=\"Times New Roman\"><span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/span>Jealousy is the strength of the wicked, punishment of evil-doers is the strength of kings, ministration to suffering is the strength of<br \/>\nwomen, and forgiveness is the strength of the wise.&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-indent: 0;margin: 0\" align=\"justify\"><font size=\"3\" face=\"Times New Roman\"><span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/span>When the wealth, beauty, heroism, birth, happiness, good fortune, and<br \/>\nhospitality of one man excite the envy of another the pain and trouble of the<br \/>\nenvious man are endless.&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-indent: 0;margin: 0\" align=\"justify\"><font size=\"3\" face=\"Times New Roman\"><span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/span>The seeker after pleasure must abandon knowledge and the<br \/>\nseeker after knowledge must abandon pleasure.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; It is in the nature of men to<br \/>\nfancy that they are respected by all men.<\/p>\n<p><span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/span>No<br \/>\none can quench indolence by sleep, fire by fuel, and thirst by wine.<br \/>\n<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-indent: 0;margin: 0\" align=\"justify\"><font size=\"3\" face=\"Times New Roman\"><span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/span>What can be more wonderful than the fact that in spite of<br \/>\ndeaths happening every day before their eyes the survivors think that for them<br \/>\nthere is no death!<\/p>\n<p><span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/span>There are many<br \/>\ngateways of religion.
