\nTHE TWENTY-SIXTH HYMN TO AGNI <\/b><\/font> <\/p>\n

\nA HYMN OF THE PRIEST AND SACRIFICIAL FLAME<\/b><\/font>
\n<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n

\n[The Rishi invokes the Divine Flame in all its usual attributes
\nas the sacrificer.’the luminous seer who has the vision of the
\nluminous world, the bringer of the gods, the carrier of the
\noffering, the envoy, conqueror, increaser of the divine workings
\nin man, the knower of the Births, the leader of the march of the
\nsacrifice with its progressive epiphany of the godheads.]<\/font><\/p>\n

  1. \n

    \n\tO  Flame, O  purifier, bring to us by thy tongue of rapture,
    \n\tO  god, the gods and offer to them sacrifice.<\/font> <\/li>\n

  2. \n

    \n\tThou who drippest the clarity, thou of the rich and varied
    \nluminousness, we desire thee because thou hast the vision
    \nof our world of the Truth. Bring to us the gods for their
    \nmanifesting.<\/font>\u00b9<\/font><\/li>\n

  3. \n

    \n\tO  Seer, we kindle thee in thy light and thy vastness in the
    \nmarch of our sacrifice who carriest the offerings on their
    \njourney.<\/font> <\/li>\n

  4. \n

    \n\tCome, O  Will, with all the godheads for the giving of the
    \noblation; thee we accept as the priest of the offering.<\/font> <\/li>\n

  5. \n

    \n\tFor the sacrificer who presses the wine of his delight, bring,
    \n\tO  Flame, a perfect energy. Sit with the gods on the seat of
    \nthe soul’s fullness.<\/font> <\/li>\n

  6. \n

    \n\tO  Flame, thou burnest high and increasest the divine laws
    \nand art the conqueror of a thousandfold riches; thou art
    \nthe messenger of the gods who hast the word.<\/font> <\/li>\n

  7. \n

    \n\tSet within you the Flame who knows the births, bearer of<\/font>\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \n\u00b9<\/font>Or, "for the journeying" to the luminous world of the Truth, or, "for the eating" of the
    \noblations.<\/font><\/p>\n

      \nsacrifice that shall bring the whole epiphany of the godheads.
      \nStrew the seat of thy soul that there they may sit.<\/font> <\/li>\n

      \n\tThere let the Life-powers<\/font>\u00b9<\/font> take their seat and the Riders of
      \nthe Horse<\/font>\u00b2<\/font> and the Lord of Love<\/font>\u00b3<\/font> and the Lord of Wide-
      \n\tness,<\/font>4<\/font><\/sup>
      \n\teven the gods with all their nation.<\/font> <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
