    \nto the Sun in the waters,<\/font>\u00b2<\/font> the Brilliant One clothes himself
    \nwith the waters and the rays.<\/font>\u00b3<\/font><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      \n\tHe by the ancient thought flows pressed out in a stream, a
      \ngod around the gods.<\/font> <\/font><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        \n\tFor one increasing and swiftly advancing<\/font>4<\/sup><\/font> there flow for his
        \nwinning of the plenty the Soma-juices with their thousand

          \n\tMilked out, the ancient food, he is poured into the strainer
          \nthat purifies and shouting he brings to birth the gods.<\/font>

          \n\u00b9<\/font>These
          \ntwo hymns are rendered as literally as possible so as to show the original symbolism of the Veda untranslated into its psychological equivalents. <\/font><\/p>\n

          \n\u00b2<\/font>The three worlds of Swar. <\/font><\/p>\n

          \n\u00b3<\/font>Agni, Surya and Soma himself are said to be found in the waters or seven rivers.
          \n‘ Gāḥ,<\/i> meaning both cows and rays. <\/font><\/p>\n

          \n4<\/sup> On the path, through all obstacles; the sacrifice is figured both as a growth of man and
          \nas a journey. <\/font><\/p>\n

                  \n\tTongue of the Truth, a pleasant honey,<\/font>\u00b2<\/font> he flows speaker
                  \nand lord of this Thought and invincible; the Son places the
                  \nthird hidden Name of the Parents<\/font>\u00b3<\/font> in the luminous world of
                  \nHeaven.<\/font> <\/font><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                  \n\u00b9<\/font>"Large foods", according to the ritualist -commentator; as there are here two words
                  \nmeaning food in his usual rendering, iṣ<\/i> and vāja,<\/i> he gives another meaning to
                  \nvāja<\/i> and explains
                  \nthe verse "give us a wealth along with which there are cows, men, horses and battle and give
                  \nus plentiful food". <\/font><\/p>\n

                  \n\u00b2<\/font>The sweet wine of the Soma. <\/font><\/p>\n

                  \n\u00b3<\/font>Heaven and Earth; there are three heavens and three earths and at the summit is the
                  \ntriple luminous world of Heaven called Swar and described lower down as the triple back or
                  \nthreefold level in the Dawn. That is the world of the "vast sun" and is itself described as the
                  \nTruth, the Right, the Vast. <\/font><\/p>\n

                    \n\tBreaking into light he cries down into the jars, guided by
                    \nmen, in the golden sheath; in him the milkings of the Truth
                    \ndawn out,<\/font>\u00b9<\/font>he shines wide on the triple back of the Dawn.<\/font>
                    \n\t<\/font><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                    \n <\/font><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

                      \n

                      \n\tPressed out by the stones, placed in delight by the thoughts,
                      \npure, making to shine out the two mothers. Earth and
                      \nHeaven, he runs evenly through all the hairs of the Sheep ;<\/font>\u00b2<\/font>
                      \nhis stream of honey goes on increasing day by day.<\/font>
                      \n\t<\/font><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                      \n <\/font><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

                        \n

                        \n\tRace everywhere, O Soma, for our happiness, purified by
                        \nmen clothe thyself with the mixings; with those thy raptures
                        \nthat are smiting and wide-extended, impel Indra to give his
                        \nplenty.<\/font>\u00b3 <\/font><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                        \n\u00b9<\/font>Or, "to him the milkers of the Truth cry out the chant." <\/font><\/p>\n

                        \n\u00b2<\/font>The strainer in which the Soma is purified is made of the fleece of the ewe. Indra is the
                        \nRam; the Ewe must therefore be an energy of Indra, probably the divinised sense-mind,
                        \nindriyam.<\/i> <\/font><\/p>\n

                        \n\u00b3<\/font>The Soma was mixed with water, milk and other ingredients: Soma is said to clothe
                        \nhimself with the Waters and with the "cows", that is, the illuminations or yield of Dawn, the
                        \nshining Cow. <\/font><\/p>\n
