\n  [The Rishi hymns the Sun-God as the source of divine know-
\nledge and the creator of the inner worlds. To him, the Seer,
\nthe seekers of light yoke their mind and thoughts; he, the one
\nknower of all forms of knowledge, is the one supreme ordainer
\nof the sacrifice. He assumes all forms as the robes of his being
\nand his creative sight and creates the supreme good and happiness for the two forms of life in the worlds. He manifests the
\nheavenly world, shining in the path of the dawn of divine know-
\nledge; in that path the other godheads follow him and it is his
\ngreatness of light that they make the goal of all their energies.
\nHe has measured out for us our earthly worlds by his power
\nand greatness: but it is in the three worlds of light that he attains
\nto his real greatness of manifestation in the rays of the divine
\nsun; then he encompasses the night of our darkness with his
\nbeing and his light and becomes Mitra who by his laws produces
\nthe luminous harmony of our higher and lower worlds. Of all
\nour creation he is the one author, and by his forward marches he
\nis its increaser until the whole world of our becoming grows full
\nof his illumination.]<\/font> <\/font><\/p>\n

    \n\tThe illumined yoke their mind and they yoke their thoughts
    \nto the illumined godhead, to the vast, to the luminous in
    \nconsciousness; the one knower of all manifestation of knowledge, he alone orders the things of the sacrifice. Great is
    \nthe praise of Savitri, the creating godhead.<\/font>

      \n\tAll forms are robes the Seer puts on that he may create the<\/font>
      \n\t<\/font><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      \ngood and bliss for the double and the quadruple<\/font>\u00b9<\/font> creature.
      \nSavitri describes by his light our heavenly world; supreme
      \nis he and desirable, wide is the light of his shining in the
      \nmarch of the Dawn.<\/font> <\/font><\/p>\n

        \n\tAnd in that march all the other gods in their might follow
        \nafter the greatness of this godhead. This is that bright god
        \nSavitri who by his power and greatness has measured out
        \nour earthly worlds of light.<\/font> <\/font><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          \n\tBut also thou goest, O Savitri, to the three shining worlds
          \nof heaven and thou art made manifest by the rays of the
          \nSun, and thou encirclest on both sides the Night, and thou
          \nbecomest Mitra, O god, with his settled laws of Truth.<\/font>
          \n\t<\/font><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            \n\tAnd thou alone hast power for the creation and thou
            \nbecomest the Increaser. O god, by thy marchings in thy
            \npath, and thou illuminest all this world of the becoming.
            \nShyawashwa, O Savitri, has found the affirmation of thy
            \ngodhead.<\/font> <\/font><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            \n\u00b9<\/font>Literally, two-footed and four-footed, but pad<\/i> also means the step, the principle on
            \nwhich the soul founds itself. The esoteric meaning is four-principled, those who dwell in the
            \nfourfold principle of the lower world, and two-principled, those who dwell in the double principle <\/b> of the divine and the human. <\/font><\/p>\n
