\nTHE FOURTEENTH HYMN TO AGNI
\n<\/b><\/font> <\/p>\n

\nA HYMN OF THE FINDER OF LIGHT AND TRUTH
\n<\/b><\/font><\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n

\n[The Rishi declares Agni as the Priest of the sacrifice, the slayer
\nof the powers of Darkness, the finder of the world of the Sun of
\nTruth, of his radiant herds and of his luminous waters; he is the
\nseer in us who is increased by the clarities of right thought and
\nspeech.]<\/font>  <\/p>\n

  1. \n

    \n\tAwaken the Flame by the word that affirms him, kindle high
    \nthe Immortal; let him place our offerings in the godheads.<\/font> <\/li>\n

  2. \n

    \n\tHim in their pilgrim sacrifices mortal men desire and adore,
    \nthe divine, the immortal, who is strongest for sacrifice in the
    \nhuman creature.<\/font> <\/li>\n

  3. \n

    \n\tHim, the godhead, man’s continuous generations adore
    \nwith the ladle<\/font>\u00b9<\/font> dripping with the clarities; the Will they
    \nadore that he may bear their offering.<\/font> <\/li>\n

  4. \n

    \n\tBorn, the Flame shines out slaying the Destroyers,<\/font>\u00b2<\/font> yea, he
    \nsmites the Darkness with the Light and he finds the shining
    \nHerds<\/font>\u00b3<\/font>
    \n\tand those Waters and the luminous world.<\/font>4<\/font>
    \n\t<\/font><\/sup><\/li>\n

  5. \n

    \n\tThe Will serve and seek, the object of our adoration, the
    \nSeer with his surface of the clarities; may he come, may he
    \nhearken to my call.<\/font> <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \n\u00b9<\/font>This ladle is the constantly lifted movement of man’s aspiration towards the Truth
    \nand the Godhead. ‘<\/font><\/p>\n

    \n\u00b2<\/font>The Titans, dividers of our unity and completeness of being and sons of the Mother of
    \nDivision, who are powers of the nether cave and the darkness.<\/font><\/p>\n

    \n\u00b3<\/font>The Herds and the Waters are the two principal images of the Veda; the former are the
    \ntrooping Rays of the divine Sun, herds of the luminous Consciousness; the waters are the
    \noutpouring of the luminous movement and impulse of the divine or supramental existence.<\/font><\/p>\n

    \n4<\/sup> Swar, the world of divine solar light to which we have to ascend and which is revealed by
    \nthe release of the luminous herds from the nether cave and the consequent uprising of the divine
    \nSun.<\/font><\/p>\n
