\nTHE LEADERS TO THE BLISSFUL HOME <\/font><\/p>\n

\n[The Rishi invokes the Lords of the infinite wideness and harmony whose arms embrace the soul’s highest plane of the
\nTruth and Bliss, to extend to him those arms of awakened consciousness and knowledge, so that he may have their all-embracing delight. He aspires by the path of Mitra to the joy of his
\nharmonies in which there is no wound nor hurt; conceiving and
\nholding the highest by the power of the illumining word, he would
\naspire to an increase in that plane, the proper home of the gods.
\nLet the two great gods create in his being that wide world of their
\ndivine strength and vastness; let them bring to him its plenitude
\nand felicity in the dawning of the divine light and the divine
\nforce.]<\/font> <\/font><\/p>\n

    \n\tVaruna, destroyer of the foe, and Mitra we call to you by
    \nthe word of illumination; their arms encompass the world of the power of Light<\/font>\u00b9<\/font>
    \n\tas if cast around the pens of the shining herds.<\/font>
    \n\t<\/font><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \n <\/p>\n

      \n

      \n\tStretch out your arms of awakened knowledge<\/font>\u00b2<\/font> to the human being when he chants to you the illumining word;<\/font>
      \n\t<\/font>your bliss adorable shall reach through all our earths.<\/font>\u00b3 <\/font><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      \n\u00b9<\/font>Swamara. Swar is the solar world of the Truth and the herds are the rays of its solar
      \nilluminations, therefore it is compared to the pens of these shining Vedic cattle. <\/font><\/p>\n

      \n\u00b2<\/font>The epithet shows how entirely symbolic are the bodies and members of the Gods as
      \nwell as their other physical belongings, weapons, chariots, horses. <\/font><\/p>\n

      \n\u00b3<\/font>All the planes of our being. <\/font><\/p>\n

        \n\tMay I go by the path of the Friend<\/font>\u00b9<\/font> that even now I may
        \nattain to the goal<\/font>\u00b2<\/font> of my journey; so men cling firmly to the
        \nbliss of that Beloved in whom there is no wounding.<\/font>
        \n\t<\/font><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          \n\tO Mitra and Varuna, may my thought hold by the illumining word that highest which is your possession, so that it
          \nshall aspire<\/font>\u00b3<\/font> to the home of the masters of plenitude for them
          \nand for men who affirm you.<\/font> <\/font><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            \n\tO Mitra, come to us with thy perfect givings and Varuna in
            \nthe world of our session, for increase in their own home of the masters of
            \n\tplenitude<\/font>4<\/font><\/sup>
            \n\tand for increase of your companions.<\/font>
            \n\t<\/font><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            \n <\/p>\n

              \n
            1. \n

              \n\tFor in them you twain bring to us, O Varuna, the might<\/font>5<\/font><\/sup> and
              \nthe vastness; form in us the wide world for the conquest of
              \nour plenitudes, for bliss, for our soul’s happiness.<\/font>
              \n\t<\/font><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              \n\u00b9<\/font>Mitra, who creates the perfect and unhurt harmonies of our higher, divine existence. <\/font><\/p>\n

              \n\u00b2<\/font>Gati.<\/i> The word is still used for the spiritual or supraterrestrial status gained by man’s conduct or efforts upon earth. But it may also mean the movement to the goal or the way,
              \n"May I even now attain to the Way, go by the path of Mitra." <\/font><\/p>\n

              \n\u00b3<\/font>That is, manifesting in men it shall strive to raise them up to its own proper station, the
              \nTruth-plane. <\/font><\/p>\n

              \n4<\/sup> The gods. Swar is the "own house" of the Gods. <\/font><\/p>\n

              \n5<\/sup> The divine force of the Truth-conscious being, called in the next verse "the force of the
              \ngods"; the Vast, bṛhat,<\/i> is the constant description of that plane or "wide world", \u2014 the Truth,
              \nthe Right, the Vast. <\/font><\/p>\n

                \n\tTo me, O lords of sacrifice, in the breaking of the dawn, in
                \nthe flashing of the ray, in the force of the gods, to my wine
                \npressed out as if<\/font>\u00b9<\/font> by men with hands come racing with
                \nyour trampling steeds, O gods who bring, \u2014 to the pilgrim
                \nof the Light.<\/font>\u00b2<\/font><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                \n\u00b9<\/font>"As if", \u2014-showing, as often, that the wine and its pressing are figures and symbols. <\/font><\/p>\n

                \n\u00b2<\/font>Arcanānas,<\/i> he who travels to the illumination created by the word, the significant name
                \nof the Rishi of this hymn, one of the line of Atri.<\/i> <\/font><\/p>\n
