\nTHE SEVENTEENTH HYMN TO AGNI <\/font><\/p>\n

<\/b> <\/p>\n

\nA HYMN OF ENLARGEMENT AND ULTIMATE ASPIRATION <\/font><\/p>\n

<\/b><\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n

\n[A state arrives in which man goes beyond the mere subtlety
\nand fineness of the intelligence and reaches to a rich and manifold largeness of soul. Even then though he has now the wide
\nlaw of his being which is our right foundation, he needs a force
\ngreater than his to lead him; for largeness and multiplicity of
\nsoul-force and knowledge are not enough, there must be the
\ndivine truth in thought, word and act. For we have to attain
\nbeyond the enlarged mental being to the beatitude of a state
\nbeyond mind. Agni has the light and the force, the Word and
\nthe true impulsion, the embracing knowledge and the achieving
\npower. He shall bring the divine wealth in his chariot and carry
\nus towards the blissful state and the supreme good.]<\/font>
\n<\/font><\/p>\n

    \n\tI am mortal who call thee, O godhead, for thy strength is
    \ngreater than mine and it is righteous in its acts. Let the man
    \nof multiple soul when he has made perfect his sacrifice,
    \nadore the Will for his increasing.<\/font> <\/font>\n\t<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    \n\tMan, thou who hast won to the wide law of thy being,<\/font>\u00b9<\/font> by
    \nthe mouth of this flame thou shalt be self-mightier to attain
    \nand shalt mentalise the paradise of his richest flamings, the
    \nparadise of rapture beyond the thought of the mind.<\/font>\u00b2 <\/font>\n\t<\/li>\n

    \n\tFor by the mouth and radiance of his flame he has yoked
    \nhimself with the impelling force and the word, and vast as
    \nif with the seed of heaven blazes out the purity of his rays.<\/font>
    \n\t<\/font><\/li>\n

  4. \n

    \n\tBecause by the force of his workings he has the embracing
    \nknowledge and the achieving power, his chariot carries a<\/font>
    \n\t<\/font><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \n\u00b9<\/font>The larger working of consciousness and power in the being by which the rigid limitations of the ordinary mind and life and physical being are broken and man is able to experience
    \na full inner life and open himself to communication with all the planes of his own and of the
    \ncosmic existence. <\/font> <\/font><\/p>\n

    \n\u00b2<\/font>The state of bliss of which Swar, the supramental plane of existence, is the basis.<\/font>
    \n<\/font><\/p>\n

    \ndivine wealth; therefore in all creatures he is the godhead to
    \nbe expressed and the helper to whom men call.<\/font>

      \n\t5. Even now and even for us may the luminous masters of
      \nknowledge be firm by the mouth of the flame to our supreme
      \ngood.<\/font>\u00b9<\/font>
      \n\tO Sun of Energy, guard us so that we may enter in,
      \nbe mighty to attain our blissful state. March with us in our
      \nbattles that we may grow.<\/font> <\/font><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      \n\u00b9<\/font>The luminous gods in us must keep our consciousness firmly attached to the light and
      \ntruth that is brought by the workings of the Will so that we may not fall away from the right
      \nmovement and its divine joy.<\/font> <\/font><\/p>\n
