    \nO much-enjoying Ashwins, become<\/font>4<\/sup><\/font> delight.<\/font>

      \n\t<\/sup><\/font>Ashwins, with the firm and

        \nO sons of Nasata, arrive, ye fierce of deed, for I have put myself in Yoga,<\/font>9<\/sup><\/font>

        \n\t<\/font><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          \n\tCome, O Indra, of manifold brilliance, here are these vital
          \njuices<\/font>11<\/sup><\/font> put forth, extend them with the Powers of being,
          \nO thou of purified strength<\/font>.12<\/sup><\/font>
          \n\t<\/font><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          \n <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

          \n\u00b9<\/font>Riṣ<\/i> is either to strive, to injure, to speed or to thrill, quiver or writhe with ecstasy. <\/font><\/p>\n

          \n\u00b2<\/font>Yajna may mean (1) Lord (2) Yoga (3) action (4) sacrifice.      <\/font>
          \n\u00b3<\/font>Or,
          \ngood,         <\/sup><\/b>4<\/sup>Or, take <\/font><\/p>\n

          \n5<\/sup>Puru,<\/i> Gr. polus,<\/i>
          \nmuch \u2014 or, freely giving.      6<\/sup>Saviraya \u2014 hailos<\/i>
          \n(Gr.).      7<\/sup><\/b>Or, accept <\/font><\/p>\n

          \n8<\/sup> <\/b> Or, givers,     
          \n9<\/sup>Yuvāku: yu+aku<\/i> like yuvan: yu+an.<\/i> <\/font><\/p>\n

          \n10<\/sup> Vṛktabarhiṣaḥ: vṛkta,<\/i> spread or opened and barhis,<\/i> light, force, fire. <\/font><\/p>\n

          \n11 <\/sup> Āyavaḥ:<\/i> a clear proof that the Soma of the Veda is not primarily the Soma-juice, but
          \nAmrita. <\/font><\/p>\n

          \n12 <\/b> <\/sup>Or, come with Powers of being and with material Force. <\/font><\/p>\n

              \n\tCome, O Indra, with force of impulsion<\/font>\u00b3<\/font>
              \n\tto the soul movements, O dweller in the brilliance,<\/font>4

                    \n\tO general gods mighty in force,<\/font>9<\/sup><\/font> who stumble<\/font>10<\/sup><\/font> not, neither
                    \nto hurt, cleave to the fullness of my capacity,<\/font>11<\/sup><\/font> O ye who
                    \nsupport.<\/font> <\/font><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                    \n\u00b9<\/font>Sutāvataḥ:<\/i> Either suta+van<\/i> or su+tavan<\/i> (cf.
                    \nrevān);<\/i> I take the latter. <\/font><\/p>\n

                    \n\u00b2<\/font>Vāghataḥ \u2014<\/i> a doubtful word. The rendering given is provisional, deduced from the
                    \noriginal force of vā.<\/i> <\/font><\/p>\n

                          \n\tSaraswati awakeneth to consciousness by force of will<\/font>\u00b2<\/font> Mahas the ocean and shineth out this way and that in all
