\nTHE SIXTEENTH HYMN TO AGNI <\/font>
\n<\/b><\/p>\n

\nA HYMN TO THE BRINGER OF ALL DESIRABLE GOOD <\/font><\/p>\n

<\/b><\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n

\n[The Rishi affirms the Divine Will in man as the offering
\nand representative priest who brings light and strength and
\ninspired knowledge and every desirable good; for he is the
\naspirer by works in whom is the puissance of all the gods and
\nthe full plenitude of their force.]<\/font><\/p>\n

    \n\tSing thou out by the word a vast
    \n\tmanifestation for the shining Light, for the divine, for the Will whom mortals by their
    \nexpressions of his godhead as the Friend<\/font>\u00b9<\/font> put in their front.<\/font>\n\t<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    \n\tThe Will is the priest of offering of the peoples; by the illuminations of the discerning mind he bears abroad in both
    \nhis arms the continuous order<\/font>\u00b2<\/font> of their offerings and as the
    \ndivine enjoyer<\/font>\u00b3<\/font> he moves to his good.<\/font>\n\t<\/li>\n

    \n\tIn the affirmation of him and in his comradeship when he
    \nhas increased his flame of purity are all the lords of the
    \nplenitude;<\/font>4<\/font><\/sup> for all things are in the sound of his many voices
    \nand on him, the aspirer in his works, they have laid the
    \nburden of their strength.<\/font> <\/li>\n

    \n\tEven now, O Will, may there be the full plenitude of their<\/font>\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \n\u00b9<\/font>Mitra.
    \nAgni contains and is all the gods. Mortals have to discover in the action of the
    \ndivine Will the light, love and harmony of the true knowledge and true
    \nexistence, the Mitra- power; it is in this aspect that he has to be set in front
    \nof the human consciousness as the representative priest in the sacrifice.<\/font><\/p>\n

    \n\u00b2<\/font>As the
    \nPurohita, the representative priest in the sacrifice and the leader in the van
    \nof its march. He stands in front of our consciousness, leader of all our powers,
    \nto guide and carry on our Godward work, so that there shall be no interruption,
    \nno gap in the order of the sacrifice, the right stages of its march to the gods,
    \nthe right placing of its works according to the times and seasons of the Truth.<\/font><\/p>\n

    \n\u00b3<\/font>The
    \nDivine Will becomes the Enjoyer Bhaga, brother power of Mitra, who enjoys all
    \ndelight of existence but by Mitra’s power of pure discernment and according to
    \nthe light, truth and harmony of the divine living.<\/font><\/p>\n

    \n4<\/sup>The gods; the Divine Force
    \ncontains and sustains all the other divine powers in their working; in him
    \nresides therefore the power of all the other godheads.<\/font><\/p>\n

    \nutter force. Around this mighty Will earth and heaven have
    \nbecome as if one voice of inspired knowledge.<\/font>\u00b9<\/font><\/p>\n

      \n\tEven now come to us, O Will, hymned by our words and
      \nbring to us our desirable good. May we who are here and
      \nthose luminous masters of knowledge together found that
      \nblissful state of our being. March with us in our battles that
      \nwe may grow.<\/font> <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      \n\u00b9<\/font>The whole physical and the whole mental consciousness become full of the knowledge
      \nwhich streams into them from the supramental plane and they, as it were, turn into the supra-
      \nmental light and action around the divine Seer-Will as he moves about in them at his work
      \nof transfiguration.<\/font>
