The Mind-Soul, destroyer of the demons, awakened to<br \/>\nknowledge as the human-born Indra, has given to the seer his<br \/>\ntwo cows of light that draw his wain, his two shining horses that<br \/>\ndraw his chariot and the ten times twelve cows of the dawn of<br \/>\nknowledge. He has assented to and confirmed the desire with<br \/>\nwhich the Life-Soul has given the sacrifice of the Life-Horse to<br \/>\nthe gods. The Rishi prays that this Mind-Soul, lord of the triple<br \/>\ndawn, may give to the journeying Life that seeks the truth, the<br \/>\nmental intelligence and power of possession needed and may<br \/>\nitself in return receive from Agni the peace and bliss. The Life-<br \/>\nSoul on the other hand has given the hundred powers, the vital<br \/>\nstrength needed for the upward journey; the Rishi prays that<br \/>\nthis Life-Soul may attain to that vast strength which is the power<br \/>\nof the Sun of Truth on the superconscient plane.]<\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\"><br \/>\n<\/font><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p align=\"justify\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">\n\t<font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"3\">O&nbsp;&nbsp; Will, O&nbsp;&nbsp; Universal Power,<\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\">\u00b9<\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"3\">the mighty One supreme in<br \/>\nvision, master of his being, lord of his plenitudes has given<br \/>\nme his two cows of the Light that draw his wain. He of the<br \/>\n. triple dawn, son of the triple Bull,<\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\">\u00b2<\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"3\">&nbsp; has awakened to know-<br \/>\nledge with the ten thousands<\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\">\u00b3 <\/font><br \/>\n\t<font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"3\">of his plenitude.<\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\"><br \/>\n\t<\/font><\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"justify\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">\n\t<font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"3\">He gives to me the hundred and twenty<\/font><sup><font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"2\">4<\/font><\/sup><font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"3\"> of the cows<b><br \/>\n\t<\/b>of<\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\"> <\/font><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p align=\"justify\" style=\"text-indent: 30pt;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0;line-height:150%\">\n<font face=\"Times New Roman\">\u00b9<\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"2\">Or, &quot;Godhead&quot;.<\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\"><br \/>\n<\/font><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\" style=\"text-indent: 30pt;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0;line-height:150%\">\n<font face=\"Times New Roman\">\u00b2<\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"3\"> <\/font><br \/>\n<font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"2\">&nbsp;The Triple Bull is Indra, lord of the three luminous realms of Swar, the Divine Mind;<\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\"><br \/>\n<\/font><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\" style=\"text-indent: 30pt;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0;line-height:150%\">\n<font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"2\">Tryaruna Trasadasyu is the half-god, man turned into the Indra type; therefore he is described<br \/>\nby all the usual epithets of Indra, &quot;Asura&quot;, &quot;Satpati&quot;, &quot;Maghavan&quot;. The triple dawn is the<br \/>\ndawn of these three realms on the human mentality.<\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\"><br \/>\n<\/font><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\" style=\"text-indent: 30pt;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0;line-height:150%\">\n<font face=\"Times New Roman\">\u00b3<\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"2\">Thousand symbolises absolute completeness, but there are ten subtle powers of the<br \/>\nillumined mind each of which has to have its entire plenitude.<\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\"><br \/>\n<\/font><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\" style=\"text-indent: 30pt;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0;line-height:150%\">\n<font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"2\"><sup>4<\/sup> The symbolic figure of the illuminations of divine knowledge as the series of dawns<br \/>\n(cows) of the twelve months of the year and twelve periods of the sacrifice. There are again<\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\"><br \/>\n<\/font><br \/>\n<font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"2\">ten times twelve to correspond to the ten subtle sisters, powers of the illumined mentality.<\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\"><br \/>\n<\/font><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\" style=\"margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0;line-height:150%\">\n<font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"2\">Page \u2013 416<\/font><\/p>\n<hr>\n<p align=\"justify\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">\n<font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"3\">dawn; his two shining<\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\">\u00b9<\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"3\"> horses he gives, yoked to the car,<br \/>\nthat bear aright the yoke. O&nbsp;&nbsp; Will, O&nbsp;&nbsp; Universal Power, do<br \/>\nthou rightly affirmed and increasing extend peace and bliss<br \/>\nto the lord of the triple dawn.<\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\"> <\/font><\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>\n<p align=\"justify\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">\n\t<font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"3\">For thus has he done desiring thy grace of mind, new-given<br \/>\nfor him new-manifested, \u2014 he, the disperser of the des-<br \/>\ntroyers,<\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\">\u00b2<\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"3\"> the lord of the triple dawn who with attentive mind<br \/>\ngives response to the many words of my many births.<\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\">\u00b3 <\/font>\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"justify\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">\n\t<font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"3\">May he who answers to me with assent give to the illumined<br \/>\ngiver of the Horse-sacrifice,<\/font><sup><font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"2\">4<\/font><\/sup><font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"3\"> by the word of illumination<br \/>\npossession of the goal of his journey; may he give power of<br \/>\nintelligence to the seeker of the Truth.<\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\"><br \/>\n\t<\/font><\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"justify\" style=\"line-height: 150%;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">\n\t<font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"3\">A hundred strong bulls of the diffusion<\/font><sup><font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"2\">5<\/font><\/sup><font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"3\"><br \/>\n\traise me up to joy;<\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\"> <\/font><br \/>\n\t<font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"3\">the gifts of the sacrificer of the steed are as outpourings of<br \/>\n\tthe wine of delight with their triple infusions.<\/font><sup><font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"2\">6<\/font><\/sup><font face=\"Times New Roman\"><br \/>\n\t<\/font><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p align=\"justify\" style=\"text-indent: 30pt;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0;line-height:150%\">\n<font face=\"Times New Roman\">\u00b9<\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"2\">The two shining horses of Indra identical probably with the two cows of light of the<br \/>\nfirst verse; they are the two vision-powers of the supramental Truth-Consciousness, right-<br \/>\nhand and left-hand, probably direct truth-discernment and intuition. As cows symbolising<br \/>\nlight of knowledge they yoke themselves to the material mind, the wain; as horses symbolising<br \/>\npower of knowledge to the chariot of Indra, the liberated pure mind.<\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\"><br \/>\n<\/font><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\" style=\"text-indent: 30pt;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0;line-height:150%\">\n<font face=\"Times New Roman\">\u00b2<\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"2\">Trasadasyu; in all things he reproduces the-characteristics of Indra.<\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\"><br \/>\n<\/font><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\" style=\"text-indent: 30pt;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0;line-height:150%\">\n<font face=\"Times New Roman\">\u00b3<\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"2\">The seer by this self-fulfilment on the higher plane is born, as it were, into many realms<br \/>\nof consciousness and from each of these there go up its words that express the impulses in it<br \/>\nwhich seek a divine fulfilment. The Mind-Soul answers to these and gives assent, it supplies to<br \/>\nthe word of expression the answering word of illumination and to the Life that seeks the Truth<br \/>\nit gives the power of intelligence that finds and holds the Truth.<\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\"><br \/>\n<\/font><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\" style=\"text-indent: 30pt;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0;line-height:150%\">\n<font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"2\"><sup>4<\/sup> The Horse-sacrifice is the<br \/>\noffering of the Life-power with all its impulses, desires, enjoyments to the divine existence. The Life-Soul (Dwita) is itself the giver of the sacrifice which it<br \/>\nperforms when by the power of Agni it attains to vision on its own vital plane, when it becomes,<br \/>\nin the figure of the hymn, the illumined seer Ashwamedha.<\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\"><br \/>\n<\/font><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\" style=\"text-indent: 30pt;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0;line-height:150%\">\n<font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"2\"><sup>5<\/sup> The complete hundred powers of the Life by whom all the abundance of the vital plane<br \/>\nis showered upon the growing man. The vital forces being the instrument of<br \/>\ndesire and enjoyment, this diffusion is like the outpouring of the wine of delight that raises the soul to new and<br \/>\nintoxicating joys.<\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\"> <\/font><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\" style=\"text-indent: 30pt;margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0;line-height:150%\">\n<font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"2\"><sup>6<\/sup> The delight extracted from existence is<br \/>\ntypified by the honey-wine of the Soma; it is<br \/>\nmixed with the milk, the curds and the grain, the milk being that of the luminous cows, the<br \/>\ncurds the fixation of their yield in the intellectual mind and the grain the formulation of the<br \/>\nlight in the force of the physical mind.
