\nTHE ELEVENTH HYMN TO AGNI <\/b><\/font><\/p>\n

\nA HYMN TO THE DIVINE PRIEST AND SACRIFICIAL FLAME <\/font><\/p>\n

<\/b><\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n

\n[The Rishi hymns the birth of the wakeful and discerning
\nsacrificial Flame who is vision and will-power, the seer whose
\npassion of effort turns into a divine knowledge, in the heavens of
\nmind. This seer-will the inspired words of the Thought have to
\nincrease. It is a thing of puissance, the Son of Force, and found
\nby the ancient Souls of luminous puissance concealed in the
\ngrowths of earth, in all the experiences that the soul here seeks to
\nenjoy.]<\/font><\/p>\n

    \n\tThe protector of the creature is born, the Flame that is
    \nwakeful and perfect in discernment, for a new march to felicity. His front is of the clarities, luminously he shines wide
    \nso that the vastness of him touches the heavens, he is pure
    \nfor the bringers of the riches.<\/font> <\/li>\n

  2. \n

    \n\tMen have kindled high in the triple world<\/font>\u00b9<\/font> of the session the
    \nFlame supreme to be vision in the sacrifice and the vicar
    \nset in front; he comes in one chariot with the God-Mind and
    \nthe divine Powers and sits on the seat of sacrifice, the Priest
    \nof the oblation perfect in will-power for the sacrificing.<\/font> <\/li>\n

    \n\tUnovercome and pure<\/font>\u00b2<\/font> thou art born from thy mothers
    \ntwain; thou hast risen up a rapturous seer from the all- luminous sun; they have
    \n\tincreased thee with the clarity, O
    \nFlame, and the passion-smoke of thee becomes vision when
    \nit reaches and lodges in the heavens.<\/font> <\/li>\n

  4. \n

    \n\tMay the Flame come to our sacrifice with power to accomplish; the Flame men carry into every room of their dwelling-
    \nplace ; the Flame has become our messenger and the bearer<\/font> <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \n\u00b9<\/font>The triple world of mind, life and body in which the session of our sacrifice takes
    \nplace or in which the work of self-perfection ^proceeds.<\/font><\/p>\n

    \n\u00b2<\/font>Or, "pure without cleansing".<\/font><\/p>\n

    \nof our offering; when men accept the Flame into them-
    \nselves, it is the seer-will that they accept.<\/font><\/p>\n

      \n\tFor thee, O Flame, this Word fraught fullest with the honey,<\/font>\u00b9<\/font>
      \nfor thee this Thought and may it be the peace and bliss in
      \nthy heart. For the words of the Thought satisfy and in-
      \ncrease thee as those great fostering streams<\/font>\u00b2<\/font> fill and increase
      \nthat ocean.<\/font> <\/li>\n

    2. \n

      \n\tO Flame, the souls of puissance<\/font>\u00b3<\/font> discovered thee hidden in
      \nthe secret place,<\/font>4 <\/font><\/sup>
      \n\tlodging in every object of delight; by our
      \npressure on thee thou art born, a mighty force; the Son of
      \nForce they have called thee, O Puissance.<\/font> <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      \n\u00b9<\/font>The honeyed Soma-wine, outflowing of the principle of Delight in things.<\/font><\/p>\n

      \n\u00b2<\/font>The seven rivers or movements which descend from the superconscient being and fill
      \nthe conscious ocean of our existence. They are called the Mothers, the fostering Cows, the
      \nMighty Ones of Heaven, the Waters of Knowledge, the streams of the Truth, etc.<\/font><\/p>\n

      \n\u00b3<\/font>The seven ancient seers or fathers, the Angirasa Rishis, sons of Agni and divine or
      \nhuman types of the seer-will.<\/font><\/p>\n

      \n4<\/sup>The subconseient heart in things.<\/font><\/p>\n
