\nTHE TWENTY-FIRST HYMN TO AGNI <\/font><\/p>\n

<\/b> <\/p>\n

\nA HYMN OF THE DIVINE FLAME IN HUMANITY
\n<\/b><\/font><\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n

\n[The Rishi invokes the divine Flame to burn as the divine Man
\nin humanity and to raise us to our perfection in the seats of
\nthe Truth and the Bliss.]<\/font> <\/font><\/p>\n

  1. \n

    \n\tAs the human<\/font>\u00b9<\/font> we set thee within us, as the human we kindle
    \nthee; O Flame, O Seer-Puissance, as the human offer sacrifice to the gods for the seeker of the godheads.<\/font>
    \n\t<\/font><\/li>\n

  2. \n

    \n\tO Flame, thou burnest in the human creature when thou art
    \nsatisfied with his offerings; his ladles go to thee unceasingly, O perfect in thy birth,
    \n\tO presser out of the running richness.<\/font>
    \n\t<\/font><\/li>\n

  3. \n

    \n\tThee all the gods with one heart of love made their envoy;<\/font>
    \n\t<\/font>O seer, men serve and adore thee in their sacrifices as the
    \ngodhead.<\/font> <\/font><\/li>\n

  4. \n

    \n\tLet mortal man adore the Will, the divine, by sacrifice to
    \nthe powers divine; but thou, O Brightness, shine out high-
    \nkindled; enter into the home of the Truth, enter into the
    \nhome of the Bliss.<\/font> <\/font><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \n\u00b9<\/font>The godhead descending into man assumes the veil of humanity. The god is eternally
    \nperfect, unborn, fixed in the Truth and Joy; descending, he is born in man, grows, gradually
    \nmanifests his completeness, attains as if by battle and difficult progress to the Truth and
    \nJoy. Man is the thinker, the god is the eternal’ seer; but the Divine veils his seerhood in the
    \nforms of thought and life to assist the development of the mortal into immortality. <\/font><\/p>\n
